Getting to the (Manti)core of things

Seeing Tara’s rapid motion, the Manticore struck its tail at the naked woman’s neck.

“TARA!” Shouted Emily, who transformed herself into a rhinoceros and charged at the Manticore. To her surprise, however, the Manticore could just hold down Emily’s attack by holding her down with its paws. It once more prepared its tail to sting again.

“Don’t you dare!” Said Desiderata. She flew on top of the beast and repeatedly hit its tail in the hopes of finding an opening. Instead, it only angered the Manticore who now attempted to sting her. Managing to miss it by half an inch, she did find herself trapped, since her shirt and bra snagged on the tail. “Ah, crap!”

Agitated, the Manticore swung its tail around to rid itself of the succubus. And unfortunately for her, it succeeded, launching her into the nearby forest.

…her shirt and bra still hanging on its tail.

Free of its distraction, it now stung Emily, managing to piece her thick rhino skin.

“I’ll get it!” Shouted Helena. She jumped on top of the rhino in order to reach to Manticore. However, the sudden jump and Helena’s earlier behavior irritated Emily, who started running wildly in order to knock her off. “H-hey, calm down, you elf!”

Next up was Lucile, who made made hand gestures to cast a spell. Small, tentacle-like things spawned from the ground, entrapping the beast. Lucile started to look hopeful, until the Manticore not only broke free, but stung her in the buttocks.

Now, it looked at the tiefling, and pounced at her. It attempted to bite Talrach’s head clean off, when Lucile get back on her feet. To see the woman she loved about to mauled off would already piss her off, but with the venom inside…

“Get off of her, you BITCH!” Once more she casted the same spell, but something was different. The tentacles, who before were as wide as an arm, now had twice the width of an oak tree. And when before they barely reached the Manticore’s torso, now they towered over it five times over. They grabbed the Manticore…

“…Meow…?”

Before throwing it far away…

…straight at Collette, Clarisse and Cevin. “Ah, c’mon!”

As Lucile stood puffing, Talrach stood in amazement. “Lucy, that was incredible! I’ve never seen you pull that off.”

“T-thanks.” Laughed Lucile.

“To use magic that powerful, you must either spent decades training, or just really care about someone. How lovely you consider our friendship that fantastic.”
