Chapter 1192 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Get some air.

The day is passing by, though it's certainly been a productive one. Not only were you able to infiltrate and escape from a mighty dragon's lair, but you also rescued Malakae Vraelion from his clutches. She was even freed from her fail-safe mark thanks to Eva's growing powers as a magic eater (stel'ae). Speaking of which, as you lean back against the exterior wall of the dragoness' new abode, you see the bunnyfolk mage making her way down the pathway. She skips along, back in her normal garb--alluring blouse and tiny skirt bouncing along with her gleeful steps. She lives up to rabbit-like appearance. Eventually, she makes her way over, and stops to look up at you with a smile on her face.

"You look happy!" she says. "I guess today was a success after all. How's Malakae settling in?"

After she asks, the door opens behind you. Out steps Lady Vraelion herself, dressed once again in the temporary dress loaned to her by Luna. Though it's no longer torn open down the middle, thanks to a handy spell you cast before leaving her to wash up. Still, she looks down over herself and slides a hand along where the damage previously was, and for a moment, a hint of red appears in her cheeks as she remembers the feeling. "Ah!" She snaps out of it. "Hello again, Eva Beela."

Eva's eyes dart between the two of you for a moment long enough to feel uncomfortable. "Oh... The two of you--" She purses her lips and blushes. "Ahaha, it's okay! I mean, we're all adults here, so like, you can do anything you want. And it isn't as if we haven't all done--"

"I take what I desire," Malakae cuts her off before crossing her arms.

"Watch it!" Eva's nostrils flare. "L-Listen here. If you're gonna be living here with us, we gotta lay down some ground rules. Firstly, if you want to sleep with someone, you freely can, but if it's Kyle, you can't be smug about it. Also you have to think the entirely time about how you won't be as good at it as me."

"What the hell does that mean?!"

"Good. I'm glad we're at an agreement," Eva says. She huffs and turns her back, then crossing her arms as well.

"You--" Malakae lets out a sigh. She inspects the back of the bunny for a long moment. "Eva. Can I ask you something?"

Without peaking back, Eva replies with a, "Hm?"

"The thing you did for me." She places a hand upon the side of her neck. "You... kissed away the mark that bound me to my father. Then you breathed lightning, just like certain coloured dragons can do. But you're not a dragon. So how did you do that?"

Slowly, Eva turns a gaze back towards Malakae, but with an expression so smug it could kill. "Are you admitting that I'm a more powerful mage than you?"

"As if! Fine. If you don't want to tell me--"

"It was my mother's gift." Shyly, Eva turns around fully as she brings a hand back through her pale lavender hair. "She wasn't a bunnyfolk like my father. I've been coming to terms with my mixed blood, so I wasn't even sure if I could pull off what I did, but I had to try. See, she was one of the remaining magic eaters. Now I too realize I possess the power to... Well, eat magic."

"A stel'ae," Malakae says beneath her breath. "That's ridiculous. They--" She places a hand over her lips. "I always thought... and you... That's amazing, Eva. Though you realize that many mages consider them to be the enemy to all magic, right? Telling me this is quite dangerous, considering who I am, and who my father is. While you may all be wanted already, if people were to find out magic eater blood was in your veins, they would hunt you down."

"Well then come at me!" She grabs your hand tight. "I'm not gonna run, and Kyle here will help protect me too. They already call him Demon King anyway. If I'm going to sit on his lap on the throne, then I should be the next most wanted person here."

"Your mind is an enigma I can't understand," she mutters.

"Hey, Malakae," you finally speak up. "I know you just got here today, but do you happen to have any information we could use in our fight against Elok Daven? Your father clearly has ties to him, and you fought for him at the Sports Festival. Anything helps."

She puts a hand to her head. "I'll see what I can recall. I mostly tried to ignore my father's dealings. Though that was until I was **** to compete in that silly competition. Give me some time. I'm still a little... light-headed."

"From what?" Eva asks.

"Nothing," she replies. "Mind your own business."

"I think it's best if we all rest up. Tomorrow, let's go over what we know, and figure out what we should do next. With Malakae here, we should be vigilant against any attack by her father, but now we also don't have much else to focus on besides Elok Daven himself. If the Circle is still willing to help, maybe we can find where he's hiding without funneling ourselves down his underground tunnel of ****."

"Well, you have my support," Malakae says. "Whatever his plan, he showed his true colours at the Sports Festival, and I can't stand the idea that he'd do something like this again."
