Making his way down to reception, again, Ethan tells her the job is done.
Without glancing up, she holds out the second envelope of the day, offering it to him lazily.
Ethan takes it, opening it to find the agreed-upon amount. "Thank you," he says, shuffling it into his wallet.
"Mhm," the receptionist is barely paying attention, her eyes on her screen.
Clearing his throat, Ethan turns to leave, pondering what he should do now. He did say he was going to meet Charlie at the bar later, but they didn't specify an exact time. It's early, relatively, but the idea of walking home and then back isn't appealing. He could walk around town for a few hours, but after all that work he really just wants to sit. Figuring he's got nothing better to do, he decides to head out to the bar now.
