There was something terrible frightening about the way the old man spoke and without thinking Leanne hurriedly turned before re-entering the corridor. Such was her haste to leave that she didn't see the tall figure until it was too late and she crashed hard into him.

"Whoa! Careful." said a male voice. Leanne peered up and saw one of the male attendants who worked at Rosefield Manor. He observed her with a slightly bemused look on his face. He was tall, definitely over 6 feet, probably in his early or mid 30's and ruggedly handsome.

"So, um, what's your name?" she asked. Trying to act casual despite her agitated state.

"I'm Dan," replied the attendant. "I work here."

"Very nice to meet you, Dan," answered Leanne with a slightly flirtatious smile. "I didn't realise this place employed someone so young and muscular. I'm Leanne." Leanne liked what she was looking at and decided to try finding out more about the good-looking worker. But before she could a female worker, who Leanne hadn't even noticed, spoke up.

"Dan, we need to deal with Mr. Johnson." Leanne glanced towards the other woman who had a serious expression on her face. "You can do whatever with... this afterwards."

"Okay, sure." smiled Dan. Turning to face Leanne and subtly checking her out. "What's the problem this time?"

"He's just getting really aggressive for no reason," replied the other worker. She looked at Leanne and eyed her suspiciously but said nothing to her. "He always gets like this at this time of the month, but it's always worse around this time of year for some reason."

"I'd better go in and try to calm him down," added Dan, his macho act in full flow.

"Wait! Are you... going in there?" Leanne asked nervously. Pointing towards the room she'd just hastily departed.

"You'll have to wait here," said the other worker to Leanne. Thinking she wanted to follow them. "If he hurts a member of the public there could be a lot of trouble."

"I think that's for the best," agreed Dan. "It'll only take a minute or two."

Leanne had no intention of going back in that room but couldn't stop the workers from entering. She was sure they knew what they were doing. She stood back and watched as Dan entered the old man's room with the other worker. A few minutes later there was a loud roar followed by a scream and a lot of shouting. Suddenly the two workers reappeared with Dan tightly holding his forearm and looking a little panicked.

"He bit me! I can't believe he bit me!" yelled Dan frantically.

"Relax," replied the woman calmly. "It was only a scratch." She inspected the wound closely. "You'll be fine, but if you're worried go see the nurse just in case. At least Mr. Johnson's calm now." With her job done the worker walked away, allowing Leanne to step forward and check on Dan.

"Are you okay?" she asked with concern in her voice. "I heard the screaming."

"Yea, I guess," replied Dan unconvincingly. "Just don't expect a resident to bite you like that." He inspected his arm closely, doubtful over his co-worker's diagnosis. "Maybe I should go to the nurse though. You know, just to make sure."

"I'll come with you," added Leanne cheerily. She wasn't overly won over by the grown man's whining about a small cut but still wanted to stick close. They started heading for the nurse's office when Dan suddenly collapsed against the wall. He could barely stand and his face had been drained of all colour. "Dan! Are you okay?" Leanne looked around in a panic for someone to help but the corridor was deserted. The nurse's office was close but could she carry Dan that far?
