Gary confides in a hypnotist

About 30 minutes later, Gary pulls into the parking lot of "Hypnosis R Us." Along the way he stopped and cleaned himself up, tucked the dildo under the car seat, and picked up some money. He notices only a couple of cars in the lot besides his. Relief washes over him. He won't have to wait or have any other witnesses to his presence here.

He walks into a very sterile, business-like front office. A prim, young lady in white and wearing large black-framed glasses looks up at him.

"How may we help you?" she asks crisply.

Clearing his throat, Gary croaks, "I don't have an appointment, but I need some advice. Just to ask a few questions really. Is there someone I can speak to?"

The receptionist smiles because she has witnessed this trepidation so, so many times before.

"There's nothing to worry about. Hypnosis is quite safe. Dr. Kaspar can consult you shortly. Just fill this out and I'll let her know that you're here." She hands Gary a questionnaire on a clipboard

Gary sits down and fills out the form. He answers most of the questions incorrectly to hide his identity. About the only thing he answers correctly is his first name and that he is married.

As soon as he hands the form back to the receptionist, she presses a button and a middle-aged black-haired woman opens a door behind the receptionist. She smiles maternally at Gary and he is instantly relaxed by her demeanor. He guesses that they may be about the same age. The receptionist hands the woman the incorrectly-filled out form and clipboard.

"Please come in, Mr...."

"Call me Gary."

"That is so nice of you, Gary. Please call me Dr. Sara."

Gary scoots around the receptionist's desk and enters the inner office. It is warm and inviting. The furniture is comfortable and the temperature warmer than the outside office. Gary selects a cushioned chair directly in from of the desk. Dr. Sara sits on top of the desk in front of Gary.

"Please, let me know how I can help?" Dr. Sara says softly.

"I'm going to get right to the point. Last night I was goofing around on the computer and I came across some hypnotic files." Dr. Sara smiles amused because this is not the first time she's heard this story.

"I was just goofing around and I listened to one. Maybe a couple times because I fell asleep and woke up gay." Gary noticed that Dr. Sara's expression did not change from the sympathetic smile. "The I listened to another file to make me straight again but it made my wife gay. Then this morning I was gay again. But I'm not gay. My wife isn't gay. We're married to each other, for Christ's sake."

Leaning over, Dr. Sara claps Gary's hands. Her touch is warm and comforting. The pendant around her neck sways back and forth slightly.

"It's nothing to worry about," she reassures him in a calm, soft voice.

"But they say hypnosis can't make you do anything that you wouldn't normally do," Gary says exasperatingly as if he is getting something off his chest to a trusted friend.

"Who is this 'they?' There are a lot of misconceptions about hypnosis," Dr. Sara drones on. "Depending on the tone and wording, the suggestions when you are in a trance can make perfect sense to you. First off, the effects are temporary. Unless you listen to file daily, you will see that the effects lessen every single day. That's why these files always include a suggestion to listen to them daily. Don't you remember that from the file?"

Gary nodded in agreement although he wasn't quite positive. He stared at the pendant swaying back and forth on Dr. Sara's neck.
