Chapter 4

But which one?
Galwynn shall take the girl
Ellaya didnt answer at first, she was far more concerned with nursing the poor girl back to consciousness. She was understandably still scared, but the two fair elves were far less threatening than the scary wolf that was attacking her moments before.
"But please, you have to help me! grandpa... he told me to run, but... oh, Gods, there were so many of them!" The girl grew more agitated as her fear with her immediate danger abated and the memories.
"Orcs?" with all the trouble they were having it wouldnt come as a surprise if that was the source of their problem, but instead the girl said "No... bandits. They were... awful, horrible, horrible. But you have to help me, you have to!" Ellaya tried hard not to show, but it was amazing how often mankind proved capable of equaling the worst monsters out there. Sometimes they were noble hearted, courageous people, but just as often...
"I will take you. Lady Ellaya is still recovering from the magic she used to save your life, I am strong enough to carry you..." Galwynn wasn't as shocked as Ellaya to hear about human callousness. The elf felt her heart flutter at his heroism.
"No" the word escaped her lips before she realized it. Both looked at her, it appeared they had already taken for granted they would do what the man said. Ellaya took a deep breath, and continued. There was no sense doubting herself now "You are my best warrior, Galwynn, but we dont know their numbers or their real strength. Go back to camp, group the rest of the guard, and rescue her family..." Ellaya could feel the girl“s dove eyes on her, but she had to complete the order "or avenge them." She broke out crying
Galwynn pressed his lips together tightly, biting back whatever remark he had. At her lack of empathy, or how her family would disaprove of said orders, or simply because it would take so long to find her again if he gave her that much of a headstart. It didnt matter, he nodded, picked the human like a sack of potato, and headed back towards their camp.
Ellaya stood and began to run again. The pain of regret weighted her heart, so she wasnt paying as close attention to the danger on the road
