What's next?
Gaia Daughter vs. Bedevalus, in the promised bout
"You know, you already defended the tower, Bedevalus. You don't need to go fight that giant any more. In fact, it's actually kind of irresponsible of you to leave your duties at the tower." Jervale's voice was full of all of the spite he always felt for Bedevalus, but especially for someone who'd found a loophole that would allow them to leave the tower for the day.
"Ha! The very fact that I'm able to leave the tower shows that I still defend it, Jervale." The knight grinned as he placed his helmet upon his head, completing the equipment of his full set of armor. He grabbed his broadsword from the weapon rack and tested it in the air with a practice slash. "That woman said our fight was for the Reality Crystal, did she not? That is enough."
"Ha. You sound almost smitten with her."
"I-I'm not smitten with her just because she's got that cute birth-mark below her lip and somehow resisted the curse that made all of her sisters want to fuck me." The knight scratched his chin with one gauntlet-clad finger, frowning deeply as he searched his own feelings on the matter. "I suppose I might respect her if she gives her the fight I crave. If she proves a capable fighter, though... You'd consider bringing her into the tower and making her a defender, right?"
Jervale shrugged noncommittally, while internally cursing the knight like a loveless otaku curses a popular guy. He wasn't angry because he wasn't popular with the ladies... each of their curses made "popularity" an almost non-issue, seeing as they manipulated women's minds even without meaning to. On the other hand, he was envious of Bedevalus' ability to feel affection, even after all of this time as a cursed demon of the tower. It seemed you couldn't take the knightly romance out of this guy, no matter how many loveless sexual scenarios you thrust him into, sometimes literally. "Just focus on the fight for now."
"Always!" The knight trudged from the tower with a battle-ready smile on his face, shouldering his massive weapon and heading for the portal to Japan.
The screaming Tokyo dome awaited him, a sight that set the man's blood boiling. "Such a perfect arena!" He really was becoming smitten with the woman... to think, she'd provided such a fabulous venue for their battle. The whole arena was cheering for the upcoming fight. To some extent, he pitied them... they were surely confident in the victory of their champion, but he decided he'd be a gracious winner when victory came. Bedevalus couldn't wait to see the giant approach over the horizon!
He walked to the center of the baseball field and pointed his sword towards the scoreboards, grinning from ear to ear. "Show yourself, giant! It is time I finally tasted the truest battle that your native land of... Tokyo... can provide!" He had paused mid-sentence to try and read the words in English on one of the scoreboards, luckily guessing correctly that they named their venue.
He felt a tug on his armor's cape and turned to see another caped figure there. From the expression on the woman's face, he saw that it was Gaia Daughter... but, judging by her bare face and her lack of giant stature, he could only assume she hadn't come prepared for battle. In fact, the way the cloak was wrapped around her and judging by the redness across her meek face, she was probably stark naked beneath it. She'd fallen to the curse just like all of the others. "Give it back... Give back my anticipation from the last 24 hours!" he cried, grabbing hold of her shoulders and shaking angrily.
As the cloak fell away... he saw her wearing a cooking apron, red-and-white checked, with a simple black robe beneath. In her hands, she held a heart-shaped bento box. "I am sorry... I see you are not happy."
The crowd went silent for a moment, not comprehending what had happened.
"What...?" The knight took the box from her and inspected it with a raised eyebrow, frowning deeply. Once he figured out how to pop the lid open, he grabbed a small takoyaki piece and put it into his mouth, trying not to think about the fishy intruder from earlier who'd been partially made of octopi. "Hm... It isn't bad. This is a gift for me?"
"Yes..."
"But... what about our fight?"
"This is a fight... The fight of a woman in love." The woman looked into his face with sparkling eyes as a strand of black hair displaced from her bangs and ran down to her lips, making her look like the perfect Japanese wife, then pressed herself hesitantly to the breastplate of his armor. "I could see that you did not like those women who were so forward... So I fought back against your spell, the curse that burned me for those 24 hours, to become the girlfriend you desired with slow, steady courtship. Does it not please you, Bedevalus?"
"It... It doesn't! I wanted a fight!" The knight's eyebrows twitched as he fought back against the culmination of Japan's romantic aesthetic.
The woman's glittering eyes welled with tears as she stepped backwards, then fell to the ground of the stadium. The booing reached an intense pitch, as soda bottles and popcorn boxes began to rain onto the field with vitriol at the knight's rejection of their heroine. "I apologize. In the end... I was too weak."
"No, I... I'm sorry, Gaia Daughter. I must admit, I've never seen a woman resist their impulses to this extent before in the face of my curse. You are truly powerful."
"... Will you favor me with a kiss?"
"... Yes. A kiss for Mother Earth's purest daughter."
The crowd swooned as the two finally fell into one another's embrace and locked lips, the huge knight and the tall, Japanese beauty looking like a mismatched pair, but a handsome one all the same. The marching band began to play and fireworks ignited in the sky. This was Japan's victory!
Jervale watched with one fist against his cheek and a smirk, deciding he liked this outcome after all. Of course, the lover's embrace had sickened him for a moment, but it'd all circled back around to where he knew it would in the end. Soon, Gaia Daughter had dropped her robe, she'd sweetly tempted the man out of his armor, then the two had begun to explore a variety of sexual positions on the floor of the Tokyo Dome, that hulking knight easily hoisting the woman up in the cradle of his arms so that her feet left the ground. Of course, security rushed in to stop them. After the knight easily fought off a crowd of them and then returned to sixty-nining his new Japanese girlfriend, no one else intervened, though especially brave souls continued to stay, watch, and film the strangest event in Japanese history. He figured that maybe after this, Gaia Daughter would enjoy a porn career rivaling Thunder Head's.
Of course, Jervale knew the love wouldn't last. Whether Bedevalus remembered it or not, this wasn't the first time he'd fallen in love with someone while under the effects of the curse. Jervale remembered these things because he recorded them; one benefit of being a faithful steward of the tower. "You really ought to keep a journal, you embarrassment of a knight..."
Still, Bedevalus would probably be happy... at least for a while. That fact irritated Jervale, so much so that he prepared another surprise and planted it in the knight's bedroom.
The knight strolled through the tower with an uncharacteristic spring in his step and removed his armor, leaving himself in his tunic, breaches and boots as he made his way towards his bedchamber. It wasn't a fight exactly... but he'd found a measure of joy in sampling one of the finest exports Japan had to offer. One could imagine his surprise when he opened the door to his abode and found his new girlfriend standing there, dressed in a flowing, white night-robe. He felt his member standing at attention, ready for a midnight bonus round of the day's proceedings. "Gaia Daughter. It is a pleasure to see you."
"..."
He noted the woman's silence and the presence of the mask she wore when she was preparing for battle. "Is... Something the matter, my dear?"
"... No, I am happy to discover that you were able to entertain yourself during the twenty four hours before our 'battle' at the Tokyo Dome. It seems you could not resist some other practice competition in the mean time. Truly, a master of all of the elements." The spiteful woman threw down a clump of wet seaweed at his feet. "I found this on the floor of your bedroom..."
The knight's eyes bulged. "Wait... That's... I-I must have dragged some in when I went for a swim earlier. I love the ocean, you see-"
"Ah, is that it? You love the Ocean, do you?"
The knight clenched his teeth and grabbed his sword from the wall as the woman adopted a combat pose and shouted her catch-phrase. The tower shook as a giant manifested inside, knocking away a sizable chunk of its exterior and causing the princess to dangle from the room above in her nightie, kicking her legs helplessly as all of her possessions slid from her room.
And then, Bedevalus, the Last Noble Knight, had his battle with Gaia Daughter. The most brutal battle of all... a break-up fight. The competition was legendary... and then ended in angry, misguided break-up sex, spoiling the fight once again with more debauchery. The cycle repeated over the course of the next few weeks... or possibly longer. It could be that Jervale simply ceased recording it. If the demon lord ever returned to the tower, he could only speculate at how much bickering, tower-destroying, giant-on-knight sex occurred in the days after.
But Jervale did provide helpful recordings of each time he had been **** to fix the tower.
