Friends, New and Old

As you were walking along, still deep in your thoughts, you heard a quiet fluttering sound before something collided with you from behind or, more than likely, someone judging from the soft pressure on the back of your neck as a girl, you hoped Kurumu, threw her arms around you.

"You just ran off and left this morning, my Mate. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you didn't want to see me this morning. My bedhead wasn't that bad was it?" Kurumu whispered into your ear as you raised your eyebrow.

"Would that be the first or second time after you literally fainted in ecstasy. Besides, I've seen goddesses who wished they looked as perfect as you rolling out of bed." You shot back, not stopping your trek as Kurumu simply clung to your neck, riding on your back. You hooked your arms under her legs, trying to resist the temptation to reach higher, to aid her in her impromptu piggyback ride.

"Oh really, and how many goddesses have you been looking at, mister?" Kurumu teased as you turned your head to the side to see her faux-pout.

"I'm looking at one right now." You said simply as her pout turned into a light blush as you left a light peck on her lips before facing forwards again.

"That's not fair. If you keep on complimenting me like this, I'm going to seriously fall for you." Kurumu mumbled under her breath.

"That's the idea, my little succutie." You answered.

"You're only saying that. If you knew the truth, you'd know that even if I'm pretty enough to be compared to a goddess, I'm barely average in comparison to other succubi that have more experience. I still don't know how I got such a perfect guy as my Mate?" Kurumu said forlornly, a emotion you weren't used to seeing on her cheery face.

"Hey now, I don't think you get how this relationship thing works, nobody gets to insult my girlfriend, and that includes you." You supplied as Kurumu smiled at you, leaning over your head to return the peck you gave her earlier, a feat that was humorous considering how short she was in comparison to you.

"Now then, climb up on my shoulders, Ku." You ordered bending over slightly to help her as she did what you asked, albeit confusedly. "Okay, now let go of my head, trust me, I'm not going to drop you. Now repeat after me, 'I'm the queen of the world.'" You said as Kurumu repeated the line, not really getting the point.

"Louder, come on, I want to to declare it to the entire world." You said, you smile showing a little tooth as Kurumu mirrored you expression, puffing up her chest and loudly yelling into the open air, "I'm the Queen of the World!" before looking back at you expectantly.

"That was great, now hold on tightly." You ordered as you crouched down before taking off running, not as fast as you could, but definitely faster than you'd ever managed as a human as you felt the wind rushing passed you, knowing that Kurumu could feel it to.

When you finally came to a stop, Kurumu smiled down at you. "That was really fun, but what was that all about?" She asked, only receiving a blank stare in return. "What?"

"Have you never seen Titanic?" You asked as she tilted her head to the side, a light dusting of rose appearing at your bewildered look.

"No..." She trailed off.

"Huh, I just figured a romantic like you would've seen it since it's one of the most famous romance movies of all time, it even has a cliched ending where one of them dies. Maybe it's a bit old for you." You offered as Kurumu pouted, her embarrassed blush vanishing as she climbed off of your back finally if only for the sole purpose of childishly stamping her foot on the ground

"Hey, I'm not dumb, I've read tons of romance novels and one of my favorite stories ever was written by William Shakespeare," you didn't have to ask which one, "And I have the entire collectors edition of the Fifty Shades series." Kurumu declared.

"Huh, and here I thought you being an airhead was really cute, oh well." You sighed dramatically before cracking one eye open to to see Kurumu looking off to the side.

"I don't care, I'm not cute, I'm beautiful." She said as you walked over, wrapping your arms around her.

"Yes you are, both beautiful and intelligent, whatever did I do to deserve you?" You said as Kurumu smiled, stealing one final kiss from you as she ran away giggling as you chased after her.

It was maybe ten minutes later when you and Kurumu came across another familiar face, well technically two although you had met the other one yet.

"Good morning Moka." You greeted as Kurumu gave a soft "Hello" in kind.

"Ah, where did you guys go yesterday? You just vanished during Lunch and I couldn't find you anywhere." Moka asked as you gave a well-meaning smile.

"Sorry about that, we had preexisting lunch plans and afterwards we wanted to find somewhere private to enjoy each others company." You supplied as Moka 'ohh'ed and nodded in acceptance.

"Yeah, it was so amazing. I didn't think I'd find my Mate so quickly after getting here." Kurumu gushed.

"Oh, where are my manners, Tsukune, this is..." Moka trailed off, and you realized that despite her introducing herself to us yesterday, we'd never returned the favor.

"I'm Michael , although feel free to call me whatever you'd prefer, and this gorgeous lady beside me is Kurumu, my girlfriend." You provided as Kurumu smiled happily, leaning into your side.

"Yeah, they're the people I told you about yesterday. Guys, this is Tsukune, he's a bit out of it this morning for some reason. I found him yesterday while I was searching for you, apparently he got to on a wrong bus and had to taken a later one, so he missed homeroom, but luckily I found him." Moka said happily, and you noticed the familiar sight of small hole in his ashen neck, filling in the blanks.

The other remaining blank was why was Tsukune here, after God had informed you that you'd unintentionally banished him from the school. Maybe this was what God had meant by covering for you this time, but whatever that meant and why he'd felt the need to step in, you were still woefully unaware. However, you decided to push it to the back of your mind, deciding to figure it out later, for now, you planned on getting to know your two newest friends.
