Fred, the sacrificial lamb. (Fred chapter)

Author’s note: Hey! It's the first time I am doing an author’s note at the beginning of a chapter, that is because I’d like to give a small content warning. In the chapters with Fred (The poor soul who has become Kai’s sacrifice) there will probably be a lot of unnecessary ****, humiliation, degradation, manipulation…

In essence, imagine all the dark fantasies Kai could have, and now remove all that make him either not do them or make sure that his partner also likes them. These chapters are going to be intentionally evil, and the MC is going to do objectively bad things. For that reason, I will try to keep them separated from the rest (in case you want to skip them)

I can’t make long term promises however, since at some point Fred will have to appear with other characters apart from Kai, but at that point Kai’s manipulation and use of the app should be enough to make Fred “Enjoy it” so maybe it's a bit more readable.

It's the first time I’m writing something like this, but I feel like it's the “correct” (from a storytelling perspective) way for Kai to act. So yeah, sorry for the evil main character, sorry for the future abusive character interactions, I hope you appreciate them :)

Kai’s eye twitched slightly when he saw Fred’s information.

“Really man, **** and fictional characters? Do you understand how bad anime’s reputation is because of you?” He joked to himself, before a new pop-up filled his screen.

Quest completed: A start to kinks and fetishes

Kai had almost forgotten about that quest, but after some careful consideration, he clicked yes. In a mere fraction of a second, a great amount of information was engraved in his brain.

“Note to self, this app never jokes…” Kai shaked his head, feeling slightly dizzy. As “exotic” as that experience was, the knowledge it provided would be great with his new toy.

After being done with his classes of the day, and promising Luke to call him when he got back home with dinner, Kai opened the app again.

After pocketing himself another level up, Kai rapidly checked Jack’s profile and upgraded harem to level two. Now, apart from the increase in chance of his partners agreeing to share him, he could also assign one of them to be the main partner. Its main use was to make the rest of the harem more obedient towards that person, but it was also a way of declaring that one of the members had a much higher place in his heart.

It was honestly a stupid idea, but if he had to use someone else, at least he was going to give Luke everything he could, and even some more.

Quest [target: Vanessa Stein]: Blowing of steam.

Description: Seeing your pimp fuck other women must’ve gotten you too rilled up to be satisfied with one fucking. Go to the park at night naked and play with yourself until you fall asleep.

Reward: Great slut II becomes outdoors slut I.

Description: There are many troublemakers roaming your territory, that will certainly drive down prices. Give at least five of them a good beating.

Domination II: People with the same authority or less than you behave more submissively in your presence. [Hidden: Being socially challenged feels like a personal attack.]

Kai clicked his tongue in annoyance, an XP penalty for failing quests was annoying, but he doubted it was something he had to worry about.

Quest [target: Fred Wright]: First day of hell.

Description: I don't really need to put an elaborate description here, but it will for sure be fun. Go to the old building’s bathroom and receive a beating from Kai.

Kai kept thinking about what he wanted as a reward, he didn't have to offer something appealing, so that eased his constraints a lot, but needed to ensure two things, that Fred didn’t tell anyone about this, and that Fred would keep coming back.

Reward: Perk: Easy target I.

Easy target I: You are a small magnet for bullies and other bad actors, fortunately for you, they all seem to give you a breath when they notice someone is already picking on you. [Hidden: The people around you care much less about the bad things others do to you.]

Hitting confirm, Kai started to walk towards the old bathrooms with an annoyed but wide grin. ‘I’ll go soft for the first couple of days, then I’ll give him his class.’

Kai had wanted to give Fred a class right away, unfortunately, most of the options were really unimpressive, they were apparently linked with the target’s recent behaviour. That probably explained why Luke’s options had a cutter undertone than Jack’s.

With that in mind, Kai was hopeful that the right amount of **** could unlock the correct classes for his new toy.

Fred was lying on the bathroom floor with a thin stream of blood flowing from his nose, as well as several bruises in his pale skin. He looked up towards Kai with infusion, fear, and anger, not knowing why the older man had decided to hit him.

“Don’t look at me like that, I’m surprised it took this long for someone to give you a good beating.” Kai grinned mockingly, placing his hand on his head and grabbing his black messy hair. “You better get used to this, and before you try telling anyone, I am six months away from graduating, friend of all professors and half of the students. Whose side do you think they will be on?”

Letting go of his head, Kai spitted on his face and left the bathroom, praying that his threat and half bluff would have the desired effect, at least until he could give him the next quest.

That night, Fred talked to his parents about his beating, trying to get them to give him some advice on what to do.

“I mean, he is older, has friends, and is clearly stronger. I don’t know son, you are probably better off just accepting the beatings.” Fred stared at his father in horror.

“Your dad is right Freddy, you should just keep your head low and don’t anger him more. Maybe if you do exactly what he says he will become softer.” Her mother added, like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Fred couldn’t believe his ears, why were his parents just dismissing him like that, he didn’t understand anything. Ever since that guy had pushed him inside the bathroom stall, it was like his entire life was out of his control.

Quest [target: Fred Wright]: Cry for help.

Description: Poor little Fred just got hurt, is he going to cry like a baby and go to his mommy? Tell your parents about Kai’s random beating.

Reward: Your parents will dismiss your worries and side with Kai.

Kai had been prepared for this plan to not work, his alternative was to give Fred a quest to not say anything, relying on the slight mind control and his own threats to keep Fred silent until he went to sleep.

Then, he would “reward” him with the idea that staying silent was the best strategy. Of course, this approach was better. Not only were his parents on his side now, but it was bound to dishearten him and serve a similar effect as the alternative reward, making him **** to ask for help.
