Chapter 3

How Does Sarah React?
Foster Camaraderie
Clearly this posting is a sleepy one, no wonder the grunts have adopted a laid back attitude towards regulation, however until the Lieutenant gives an order, Sarah has no obligation to make herself the bad guy in this moment.
“In any case, I’m looking forward to working with you all, with any luck this is the last time you gotta meet a new Sargent.” Replies Sarah looking to ingratiate herself with the rank and file without disparaging the Lieutenant any further.
“Eh, you can’t be worse then the last one at least, god that woman was fucking miserable…” chimes another soldier towards the end of the line prompting another small chuckle across the gathering.
“Hey Milo, remember that time she chewed your ass out for not making your bed?”
“Christ don’t remind me… Eh, serves me right, we all know that insurgents can smell people who don’t make their bed.”
“Buddy, we can ALL smell you!” Shouts another prompting open laughter now that reverberates across the room.
“Eeeeeeh… you’re a freak, you know you love it” replies the first man, a dopey grin across his face as he stuffs his hands in his pockets, leaning back against the ACP behind the line of grunts.
The grunts seem satisfied that they still have the ability to joke around with the new Sargent though the lieutenant seems exasperated that Sarah didn’t make herself the bad guy to instill order in her stead.
And With That, The Introduction Continues
