Forgotten your laptop at school

It’s not until after dinner that you realise in all your rush you didn’t pack up your laptop. You remember precisely where it is, on your desk. Do you need it? Well, it would be good. Although it should be safe, you don’t feel comfortable leaving it there overnight. And you still have time before the school’s locked up.

Yes, you have time to go and fetch it.

You set a brisk pace, so you’re sweaty and slightly out of breath by the time you get there. The main doors are locked. But you know there’s a set of side doors that are the last to be locked. You head towards them. To reach them you must pass the clinic. The lights of the clinic are still on, and you can hear the faint call of a pop tune through the glass doors. Nurse Karlee must still be in.

Ignore that. You need to retrieve your laptop. The side door is still unlocked. You head in and through the echoing halls towards your office. It’s surprising how spooky the halls are when they’re silent and empty of students.

The corridor outside your classroom is dark. Interestingly, though, there’s a light shining from beneath the door of Mrs Oversight’s office. You can hear muffled voices from inside, male and female.

First, though, to your office and your laptop. Put that in your rucksack and lock the doors. Odd that Mrs Oversight is still in her office. What’s she doing there? You could sneak into the cupboard and overhear? Or maybe not. You could go and check on Nurse Karlee, find out why she’s still here.
