Foreman's Speech

"Everyone! Huddle up!", the foreman shouted as the workers congregated around his truck at the front of the neighborhood under construction. At least fifty construction workers hand gather around and whispered to one another in concern. "I just spoke to the higher ups. They're based in Florida and so far the news they've received is just as limited as the radio announcement. I know that this is awkward timing considering the announcement earlier this week that this crew is not going to be retained after this project is completed. Now, I think all of us remember COVID. There's no telling how long this is going to continue and if these properties are left exposed to the elements for too long, management will wind up completely upside down on these.", The Foreman explained.

One of the construction workers at the front shouted out, "Why should we care? We're fired anyways! They can lose money for all we care!"

The foreman whistled to cut through the outburst from the rowdy crowd, "If work has to stop, none of you are getting paid. As far as I know, unemployment is only going to pay you a fraction of what your salary is. Here's the offer, if you ignore the lockdown and keep working, corporate will extend your pay another month. If you do decide to stay, I'll be conducting interviews in my trailer to make sure that no one has been exposed. Considering none of you have grown breasts, I think we'll be fine... I'll be waiting in my trailer, if you want to stay form a line so we can get through this.", He said.
