Following the wide path

Elan got a really bad feeling from the narrow path. And considering that, as an apprentice, he had to take care of all sorts of abominations his master cooked up, that was saying something.

He continued down the wide path following the sound he heard, curious about what it was. After a few couple of turns in the increasingly complex corridors, he realised exactly what the sound was. It was running water and a lot of it, almost certainly the irrigation system of the castle. It also meant that if he followed the water, he would eventually reach the outside. The problem was, with how complicated this path looked, he wasn't sure he would be able to find his way back if he continued further...
