Follow the women

Valerie sits down near the river as she unties the boots she's wearing and starts to roll up her cloth pants. Edging closer to the water she slowly brings her feet in. "Eeeek." She hesitates as the river water is quite chilly. Slowly accommodating to the water she's now got her feet in, under water up to her lower calves.

Rivianne sits about a foot away from Valerie, she begins rolling up her pant leg and slowly dipping her feet in, as she's doing so she notices tattoos covering Valerie's calves. "Quite the interesting design you've got there..." she points toward Valerie's calf.

Valerie actually looks a little flustered, unsure of what to say "Well, umm it's...uhhh" she stumbles.

"Relax dear" Rivianne playfully pushes Valerie against her shoulder "If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine." She continues "But I just think it looks quite spectacular..."

A few moments pass as the ladies sit in silence.

"Back in my old thieves guild..." She starts "A way to track how many contracts you completed."

Rivianne sits in silence, listening to her friend

After a slow deep breathe "We had contracts...and, well...they would assign certain markings with each contract. As you completed those contracts..." She stutters a bit "you, uhh, you got that specific marking on your body." She says "It was a way to track the best of the best." Valerie looks down at her feet as she's slowly moving them in tiny circles under the water. "The more you steal, the more your body gets covered..." She hesitates "I...I ...don't mind the stealing..but some of the other things the higher end members made you do to prove your loyalty. That's..." She slowly shakes her head back and forth, clearly starting to feel uncomfortable "That's how...I mean...I was so young. So, stupid."

"Valerie" Rivianne cuts her off "Look at you now." Rivianne brings her left hand down, gripping Valerie's right hand that was on the ground. "The past will always be there, it's something you are always going to have to live with. But remember, it's what you do now and in the future that will truly tell the story of your character." She continues "May I...may I see another mark?"

Valerie cocks her head and looks into her eyes. "Errr...sure..." She hesitates briefly "just, please keep this to yourself."

Valerie starts to unbutton the top two buttons on her shirt. She then pulls the right collar of her shirt down, revealing her right shoulder which actually shows off quite a gorgeous raven tattoo. A single black raven, perched on curled thorn branches that wrap around a dagger, eyes completely red with a dash of blood dripping down one of it's feathers.

Rivianne just looks on in awe "Absolutely gorgeous" she stares longingly at the mark "I've never seen such detail..." she's whispering to herself as she takes her hand and starts to slowly trail her finger tip around the curled thorn branches of the tattoo "No matter what you see in these markings..." Rivianne pauses as she keeps trailing her fingers around the mark "I see nothing but beauty."

Valerie stays silent.

Rivianne pulls the collar of Valerie's shirt back over her shoulder and brings her arm around her back and inches right next to Valerie "You're amazing Valerie" she whispers to her friend as she leans her head down, resting it on Valerie's right shoulder "No matter what happened before, just remember that." She repeats "Remember that. Okay?"

A couple minutes pass by as the ladies sit in silence, Rivianne still resting her head on Valerie's shoulder.

"Hey Riv?" Valerie whispers as Rivianne lifts her head up.

Seconds go by but Valerie doesn't continue to say anything else, she's starring directly into Rivianne's eyes, their heads are only about a foot apart...her eyes, scanning all over Rivianne's face, from her lips, to her cheeks, to her eyes, then lips again...
