Follow the path

Tentatively setting one foot on the pink path, Kasha was on guard for some kind of trap.

When nothing happened, she began to advance down the path. Carefully making her way along, she wound her way around the room until she reached a point she figured was probably as close to the chest as she could get.

Leaning forward a bit, she tried to reach out with her lock picks to pop the chest open.

But as her foot shifted, it went off the path by a bit, and Kasha started to fall.

Managing to fix her balance, Kasha steadied herself as most of the floor (and the treasure chest) disappeared. It seemed they had been an illusion. The only part of the floor that really existed was the path Kasha had been following. And below her was a sea of violet tentacles, all reaching up towards her longingly, fortunately none of them long enough to reach her ankles.

Glad she’d been cautious, Kasha began to follow the path again, ensuring her balance was steady.

Soon enough, she reached the end of the pink path, and stepped through a stone doorway onto a new stone floor. (She put one foot down carefully to ensure this wasn’t an illusion as well, and only put her weight on it when she was sure it was solid.)

One more chamber down, another in front of her.
