Follow Jonny back.

Jonny appeared back at Lisa’s house in a couple seconds, the familiar black smoke announcing his presence. He looked about and saw no one. “Lisa?” he said, his voice echoing through the big house. Nothing. “Lisa?” he repeated. Jonny listened for a minute. He heard what sounded like a whimper from elsewhere in the house. It was not very loud, but it was there. A bit worried, Jonny hurried in the direction of the noise. He moved quickly into Lisa’s bedroom and came around the bed to find Lisa on the floor with tears in her eyes. He rushed up to her and knelt down. “Lisa? Lisa, what’s wrong?” he asked, concerned.

She looked up at him as she cried. “I—I—did I do something wrong, Master?” she asked. “I didn’t know what that man was,” she said, almost pleading. “Oh I know you didn’t know, Lisa,” Jonny said as he helped her up, “it was a demon named Zeke who was inside Nicole’s body. The whole reason demons posses people is so we can hide when we have to. You didn’t know, and you didn’t do anything wrong,” Jonny said reassuringly. “Really?” Lisa asked. “Really,” Jonny said as the two sat on Lisa’s bed. She cried for a bit more but calmed down in a couple minutes.

“Master?” she asked. “Yes?” Jonny answered. “That woman—that Zeke—what was Zeke going to do to me?” she asked. Jonny paused, not sure he wanted to say this. “He . . . he was going to posses your body,” Jonny said. Lisa paused for a minute, as if trying to work through this in her head. “Would—“ she began, “would that hurt? Would it hurt to have him inside me?” she asked. “No, no it wouldn’t hurt in the physical sense,” Jonny said, “but he would trick you . . . that’s what he does,” Jonny explained. Lisa thought some more. “Trick me how?” she asked, curious.

Jonny had to think some more now. “Well, he gets people to ask him for things. He elicits wishes that may be perfectly reasonable and probably are, but once he gets you to wish for it and offers to help and you accept, it all goes wrong. Like . . . you tell him you want break from your life and agree to let him help, but then he jumps into your body. He’ll have his fun and enjoy himself and you’ll get the break you asked for, but when he leaves your body, ten or fifteen years will have gone by. You’ll be older, and he’ll probably have trashed your body while he was inside it. You’d end up fat, pregnant, or something like that, and he would move on to someone else.” Lisa nodded as if understanding. The look on her face suggested that she did not like that idea. “Could you get him out of me, Master?” she asked. “I’m not sure . . . keeping him out is much easier than getting him out, so you just be careful making wishes around other people, ‘cause Zeke may not look like Nicole if he thinks he needs to use another body to get inside yours,” Jonny advised. Lisa nodded profusely. “I will be very careful, Master,” she said.

Jonny stood and paced for a few minutes. “I’ve been thinking,” Jonny began, “it kind of does piss me off that Zeke has made such in-roads so quickly . . . that Nicole meat suit has served him well,” Jonny pondered. Lisa frowned. “Master, is my house not big enough? I have a far richer aunt . . . I could kill her or you could posses her and we could—“ she started, but Jonny cut her off. “No, Lisa,” those seem a bit like bad sportsmanship. Plus, I like my Jack body for now,” Jonny said, and then he suddenly stopped pacing.

That’s it!” he said. “What is it?” Lisa asked. “Me!” Jonny exclaimed. “Well, my body at least . . . this Jack kid . . . he’s in college, and that gives me an idea. I have a particular document I need you to draft very quickly, Lisa, and then get the car and meet me outside.”
