Chapter 924 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Flee to the hideout.

Swiftly, your party escapes through the backdoor and climbs over the fence of the estate, thankfully before any guards can encroach on the area, or perhaps even see that you were ever present. Your party has become quite quick and strong from all this adventuring, and while Mina requires a helping hand due to her stature, she's no weak link in the chain either. Rose moves incredibly fast, however, and it requires effort to keep up. Once on flat ground and back between the alleyways of buildings, Mina bolts straight past you--tiny feet scurrying along the cobblestone path.

It takes little time for Rose and Mina to halt at the door of a mundane, single storey building with closed blinds and a slightly overgrown lawn. The redhead drums her knuckles in a specific manner against the old wood, and then whispers something a moment later.

With a creak, it pulls open.

"My lady!" a voice says in surprise as your party pushes its way in. For an orc, he's on the shorter side, though his body is wide, and there isn't a hair on his head. "Are you all right? What happened?" he asks with concern.

"It's fine," she replies. "Now, anyway. Relax."

There are a couple other men discussing something in secret near one of the blocked windows. As your eyes take in the entrance of the home, you catch more vibrant colours to the left. Two figures sit at a table playing cards with hair the colour of grass and flowers--bunny ears popping up from their heads. Though after a moment of staring, as you tune out the noise of Rose speaking with her companion, your memory rewinds back like an old tape to a memory that seems so distant now after everything that's happened. You know the two girls over there. You've seen them once or twice.

"Kyle," Vivi says. "What's up?"

Rose turns her attention over towards you. She glances in the direction of the bunnies and then back again. "Do you know them?" she asks.

You let out a lengthy sigh. "Yeah--"

But as soon as you begin speaking, the pink-haired girl turns and exclaims, "It's you!" a moment before her companion turns as well.

They don't it far, though your party approaches, nudging you in said direction as Rose watches curiously. While the bunnies don't stand and abandon their game, they both scoot their chairs slightly to properly face you, and they don't seem thrilled about it. They aren't furious, or perhaps even angry. The memory to them is conflicting. Perhaps embarrassing is the closest negative emotion you can imagine.

First, the pink-haired girl continues. You remember her name now. It's Pepper. While they're both some cute, busty bunnies, her chest isn't as large as the other beside her. "Everything was going fine. We were going to take your money, easy as pie, when out of nowhere, a damned succubus had to show up! That whole event was like a blur after that. I remember, uhm... Well, Ginny and I--" She starts to blush.

Ginny, the bustier of the duo crosses her arms snug over her comfy sweater pillows and blushes as well. "Y-Yes, I remember too."

"And then... W-We were all sticky..."

"Covered in--"

You're not sure how to respond. "Haha, let's just move on with what we were talking about, huh?" you interrupt.

Ginny frowns, though goes on about something else. "After that encounter, it felt like we were off our game, so maybe that's why we were caught and arrested for stealing not long after. And they wouldn't let us in the same cell! Oh, I missed my Pepper so much."

Rose leans on the wall nearby and ponders. "A small world, isn't it? These two bunnies only joined us recently. I hope the blood between you isn't too bad."

Lynx looks to you with a tilt of her head and a furled brow. "What exactly happened?" she asks.

You turn in response. "Well, they tried to mug me in an alley while Niki, Eva, and Amara here somehow didn't even notice I was missing. Thankfully, Linzeri showed up. I don't know what would have happened if she didn't. I guess be robbed."

"What were they saying about something sticky?"

Pepper growls. "That succubus was pleasuring him, right there in front of us. How embarrassing!"

Among the awkwardness, Mina strolls over to them and asks, "What are you playing today?"

Ginny looks down. "It was Blackjack, though our dealer stepped out. Pretty mundane, I know. If we were alone--"

"--It would definitely be more exciting," Pepper finishes the sentence and giggles.

"Except when we play for clothes, I always win."

"That's not true!" she says, slapping her hands down against the table. "Though I guess we both kinda win, huh?"

In unison, the two rabbits turn their head slowly to where the dealer previously would have stood, as if they were feeling a presence there. But instead of who they expect, a more ghostly visage is present. Mela watches them curiously, though when they see the banshee suddenly there, they both scream and scramble up from the table. The two girls embrace each other tight as their hair stands on end.

"Sorry!" the ghost apologizes.

"This is fun and all," Lynx speaks up. "But we need to come up with a plan of action. Elok knows we know what we know, which means if we want to do something, we need to do it fast."

"You're right." She gave us some of the information we needed, but if we idle too long, they might move Catherine away.
