Flee!

You dash through the cover of night. The first goal is to escape the noble district. Then you need to find a place to keep safe while the heat dies down. Thankfully nobody was killed, so your criminal status shouldn't skyrocket, through when word inevitably gets out that you were spotted in the capital, it's going to be difficult to get around without being found. For now, you hustle behind the nimble Fang, trusting she knows best when it comes to navigating a city's streets swiftly.

"Kyle... I wanted to ask what it is you did back there," Lalarin asks. "When you teleported."

"I seriously don't know what you mean," you reply through quick breaths.

"You leapt, but then it was like space warped around you. What's strange is that it felt familiar. Comforting. I'm sorry. I probably sound crazy, and given everything that's been happening, I might be."

"No. I'm sorry you've had to deal with all of that, but you're not crazy. Something really did happen back there. It might have something to do with the fact that I met with both Feli and Lepo, matrons of the catfolk and bunnyfolk races. I wonder if they bestowed some kind of power--"

Fang comes to a screeching stop down an alleyway. "Hold on. So not only did you meet them, but they gave you a boon? But you're not even a catfolk or a bunnyfolk! That's not fair."

"Wait, what?" RF grabs your shoulder and turns you around. "Did you seriously just say you met the matron of my race?"

"I did, yeah. I helped them rekindle their relationship. Or something like that."

"You've really done so much in my absence... I believe you, and that sounds amazing. I think you deserve any boon they gave you. You're a wonderful man, Kyle. Can you please tell me what Lepo was like in person? I had no clue she truly existed... I mean, I understood where we came from, but I assumed that she was something beyond understanding, or a being that no longer exists."

"Well, uh. She was kind, but difficult. It's hard to explain."

"Can we get a move on, please?" Fang asks. "We're still fleeing remember. And aren't you going to get cold, Lala?"

"Why are you calling me that now too?" Then RF looks down at her legs. She widens her eyes and lowers her hands to cover her shame. "I didn't even notice!"

"If it makes you feel better, Lepo was pretty much naked anyway," you say.

"That doesn't make me feel better at all!"

After awhile longer, your party is out of breath. Delphi's wings grow weary, so you carry her in your hands. You finally reach a less-than-safe edge of town. The homes look ragged, and you pass by those you'd feel unsafe walking near if it wasn't for a party alongside you.

"The thing about being a vigilante is you learn how criminals and stuff act," Fang explains. "I respect the symbol of hope thing that you do, Lala, but follow me and I can take you to a place no guards will look."

"You're very dependable, Fang," she replies.

Suddenly, Fang's face starts flooding with colour. "W-Well, it's no problem really..."

You cross your arms and look RF over. "You know, catfolk like having their head pat when they do a good job."

"Wh-What?"

Lalarin looks to Fang and tilts her head. "Oh? I see." Then she reaches our and rubs between the catfolk's ears.

Fang practically moans at the feeling. Her face glows pink as she smiles wide. "Aah... Oh bless you, Kyle. I love you so much," she whispers.

"That's for helping us today," you say.

Lala looks around confused. "I feel like I was just used for something..."
