Five Weeks have passed

Aurthur wakes slowly from the **** in his system as he attempts to figure out where he's at. As he shifts position in the bed a searing pain shoots through his right-side ribs and leg. He lets out a growl from the pain and realizes his right arm and leg are both in casts and that he is staring at the fluorescent lights in the ceiling. As he stares into the ceiling lights he begins to hear the beeping of machines and to feel the tube in his throat. He realizes quickly that he is in the hospital and flashing back to oncoming headlights from the passenger side of the car where Aryca was seated. His heart rate spiked as his fear for her rocketed considering his own condition. Soon his blood pressure spiked along with his heart rate causing several alarms to go off. The nursing staff and doctors rushed into the room yelling about a crash cart and his vitals as they began to take care of him as he again lost consciousness.

It was a few days later that he once again started to wake from **** in his system. This time he woke more slowly and focused on keeping calm so that he could star to ask the doctors what was going on and what had happened to Aryca. He was initially unable to speak due to being intubated, nor could he write with the damage to his body at the moment. The Trauma Surgeon and Attending Physician came in about an hour after he woke to explain what had happened to him. As a result of a multi-car collision, he had suffered a cracked femur, 5 broken ribs on his right side, 2 on his left and multiple fractures to his right arm and hand. In addition to those wounds there was closed head trauma that caused swelling in the brain. There was also a punctured lung from the broken ribs on his right side. They had lost him on the table twice before they had him stabilized. Due to the severity and nature of the injuries they had needed to place him into a medically induced coma and put him on life support.

Three more days passed before they were confident enough in his recovery to take him of the Life Support machines keeping him breathing and his heart beating properly. After removing the breathing tube, it took a few hours before he could speak. As soon as he was able to ask, his first question was "What happened to Aryca Chase, she is my fiancé?"
