What's next?

First night

"I'm glad you are here with me Robin, I'm not sure if I would have been able to do this alone," Alice said as she stared into the fire.

I sighed, "Yeah maybe, but you also might not even be on this island if it wasn't for me, you'd still be on the yacht safe and sound."

Alice moved away just a little so that she could look me in the eyes, "Robin, if you weren't there I don't know what would have happened at the party. I felt extremely trapped, and I think I might have ended up taking those **** from that guy. Things might have turned out much much worse for me than just being stuck on an island with you," the look in Alice's eyes was something I hadn't really seen before, it was fearful and at the same time full of gratitude.

I pulled her in and hugged her tight, "I'll always be here for you, I'd never let anyone take advantage of my little sister, unless I'm the one taking advantage, obviously, any way to wiggle out of doing chores," I laughed.

"Oh shut up asshole! that was a nice moment and you had to go and ruin it," She laughed and playfully slapped my arm.

The sky was beautiful, and I was in awe of it, looking out to sea this would be an amazing place if only we knew we were safe and had a way to get home.

Alice sighed, "Hey, I think I'm going to go get some sleep. Today has been a long day."

I nodded, stood and offered my hand to help her get up too. I grabbed the pot and filled it at the shore before dousing the embers. I walked over to the hammock with Alice, "Hey, need me to give you a hand to get in?"

She looked at me with an odd expression, "What do you mean? If I get in first, you'll crush me."

"What? No, you take the Hammock. I laid out some palm leaves on the ground that I'll sleep on," I explained.

"Nope, don't think so, for starters what if some insects crawl onto you and cover you in bites? Plus it's getting kind of chilly now that we are away from the fire, it would be a good idea to stay together so neither of us catches a cold and what if it suddenly starts to rain? You will be on the floor where you'll get soaked through. Now get in the hammock," she ordered.

I could tell I wasn't going to win. So instead, I rolled into the hammock and soon after Alice came tumbling in after me. It felt nice having her close, we used to snuggle up in bed or on the couch all the time but as we got older we stopped doing it, now though I felt comfortable and a little nostalgic. Alice buried her head in my chest, and I smiled, I reached my hand up and began stroking her hair.

Alice looked up a little, "I miss this, remember when you used to make a blanket fort in the living room for us and we'd play video games or cuddle up to watch a movie?"

"I was just thinking the same thing, when we get home the first night I'm going to make use a fort and we'll hang out again just like that," I smiled.

Soon enough I could hear Alice's breath slowing and becoming steady, I'd had to **** myself to stay awake because of how peaceful it was, not only did it feel so comfortable having Alice in my arms but the sound of waves coupled with the odd noise of frogs or crickets coming from further inland, it all created such a relaxing atmosphere. Once I was sure Alice was asleep, that's when I let myself begin to drift off too.
