First day of Hogwarts

You wake up to find everyone had already left the bed room. You go downstairs to find Marcus in the common room.

"Oh, hi, Bella," he says, "I'm actually surprised I ended up in Slytherin. I've never considered myself to be ambitious."

Cedric walks up to you.

"I'm glad you made it into the same house. My parents will be surprised by my replacement," he says.

"Were they not in Slytherin?" you ask.

"They were both in Ravenclaw. Still, they're open minded enough."

"My dad would probably would've used the Cruciatus Curse if I wasn't in Slytherin," you say.

You look through the window and are surprised to see water, with fish swimming by. Darcia is also looking at the fish.

"Oh, is a... Nope..." she says.

"Hoping to find a mermaid outside?" Cedric asks.

"You get mermaids here?" you ask.

"Yes. There's a colony, but Darcia seems to be thinking of the Sirens in Greece. The ones we get here are the uglier Selkies," Cedric says.

You leave the common room to find Clapham waiting for you.

"Good morning, I trust you are ready for your first day at Hogwarts?" she says.

"I've been dreaming of this day for a long time. Can't believe I'm here," you say.

"Well, you are here? Make the most of it. You only have one first day at Hogwarts," she says.

Today you've got History of Magic, Potions, Defence Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration.

You find it hard to get to class with the changing staircases. You wonder our this is even practical.
