First catch

A single goblin scurried down the streets of the ruined city, scrounging for scraps. Unaware that a patrolling elf had caught sight of it.

She focused her vision, and made note that there wasn’t the faint telltale magical signature of a cage. So Viridi would have to fix that.

The goblin scurried down a side street, with Viridi hopping from branch to branch in pursuit. The goblin seemed to hear the faint rustle of leaves and then began to run into what Viridi knew to be a dead end. Jumping down from the branch she had been observing from, she blocked the exit to the dead end. “Come out little goblin, I just want to give you something shiny,” Viridi cooed.

But as she stepped down the alleyway, she saw there was nothing there. “Where did you go?” Before Viridi could notice the presence of anyone else, she felt a knife bite into her side. She instinctively reached to cover it, but found her body growing stiff due to paralysis! She toppled over, now noticing a blue-skinned figure far too tall to be a goblin. “A devil? Here? And how did you hide from me?” Or, that was what she tried to say, but her speech came out slurred like something was stuck in her mouth. The paralysis was hampering her ability to speak properly.

“Don’t worry,” the devil said, laying a hand on Viridi’s shoulder, “You’ll enjoy this, I’ll make sure of it.” After a minute of contact, suddenly the world around Viridi shifted, and she was in a completely different location, now in front of a stone and glass building like what was apparently being built in the human cities. “Welcome to my Domain. Girls, could you properly strip and bind our guest, then leave her in my room?” A gaggle of goblins, including the one Viridi had been following, picked her up and started to tear her clothes away. Then, they pulled out ropes and tied her up, leaving her naked and bound in their grip.

This was exactly why the Elf Queen had ordered the goblins caged. It had been a mercy compared to simply slaughtering them, but once Viridi escaped she would petition her queen to rely on more brutal methods.

The goblins picked Viridi up, dragged her into the building, then into a box with doors that opened with magic, and then one pressed a button with the number ‘10’ on it and the box began to rise.

The door opened, now in a small hallway, with three doors. The goblins opened the door on the right, taking Viridi into a massive chamber worthy of housing a noble, save the rather bland decorations.

Several large beds sat against a far wall, and the goblins tossed Viridi onto one and then took their leave.
