First Encounter!

It was my first time on my own, and rushing out from the town gates, I was suddenly finding myself in the middle of a verdant grassland. Mother had taken me on this route a few times years ago, as Cherrygrove was well-known for its good shopping for the area. Now that I was by myself however, the grassland seemed far different. Wild Pokémon were known to roam the thick brush, and the frequent chittering I was hearing let me know that I was definitely not alone.

Taking a few steps forward, I did my best to wade through the tall grass, pushing the huge stalks aside as I made my way through Route 29. Suddenly, the flapping of wings caused me to jump back, and a bird Pokémon suddenly exploded from the grass. Quickly pulling out the Pokedex, I tapped a few buttons and listened as the machine identified the Pokémon as a "Pidgey".

I had heard of these bird Pokémon in the past from older students and even adults. They were a troublesome Pokémon, known for pecking people that were completely defenseless. This Pidgey was incredibly irritated too, and the constant flapping of its wings seemed to indicate that it was not keen on getting out of the way.

"Fine! Lets do this your way!" I yelled, pulling the only Pokeball I had and tossing it at the ground. Chikorita in all her glory popped out and let out a bashful trill, lowering herself into a combat stance.

"Chikorita, lets do this!"

The green Pokemon nodded and immediately rushed forward, flying through the air with a powerful tackle. The Pidgey was shocked at the sudden attack, and both creatures seem to quarrel on the ground for a short time. Sharp talons and pecks struck the Chikorita several times, but its resolve was stronger and the Pidgey eventually fainted and dropped to the ground with a sudden plop.

Returning Chikorita to her ball, I noticed that she didn't look as strong as before, and knew I needed to get to Cherrygrove fast. The Poke Center there would be able to heal Chikorita, and I could also get some shopping out of the way.
