Chapter 4 by yoyo1342 yoyo1342

What's the first order of business?

First, a swim.

There are a few things you need to do before the end of the day, like unpack, go shopping, but you figure that that will wait until after you've had a nice swim.

You march towards the cabin with your things, Maria following closely behind with her pack. You step inside and look around, and it seems like everything is in place. You give Maria a brief tour, the kitchen area is open to the living room, where there's a dining table and two couches in an L shape around a quiet fireplace. You and Maria walk upstairs and show her the two guest rooms and tell her she can take either. At the end of the hall is the bathroom, with a old-fashioned free-standing tub shower, sink, and toilet.

Maria sets her pack down in one of the guest rooms, and then you walk downstairs to the basement, and show her the basement, where there's an old pool table, a ratty old couch, some storage space, and a washer and drier.

"Oh, sweet, are they working? I'd love to wash my clothes," says Maria.

"Of course, you're welcome to. There's some detergent in that... err... oh, that cabinet over there," you point.

"Great, that's fantastic, thank you so much for letting me stay here!" she says, turning to you with a bright smile.

"Sure, sure, don't worry about it," you say with a dismissive wave of the hand. "Anywho, I'm gonna put on my bathing suit and go for a swim!"

"Ok, great! I could use a proper shower, but a swim seems like a great start. Let me throw my things in the washer and I'll meet you out there," says Maria.

The two of you walk upstairs together and you step into your room and shut the door behind you. You pull your swim suit out of your bag, and change into it. You slap your belly a little self-consciously, thinking about swimming with this gorgeous girl, but then shake your head, dismissing tempting thoughts. You step out of your room and walk outside and down towards the lake. There's a long dock that goes out over the lake with a canoe tied to it. You step out onto the dock, your hefty bulk causing the boards to creek under your heels as you walk out to the edge. The water is calm and clear. You're tempted to dip your toe in to see about the temperature, but instead you shrug, bend your knees and jump out off the dock to dive in.

You travel under the cool but comfortable water a good ten to fifteen feet before surfacing. When you finally emerge, you shake out your head.

How are you greeted when your head pops out of the water?
