Chapter 9 by Yabusa Yabusa

Is that enough to go with for now?

Fine, but Kim gets first shift

You shrugged, slightly defeated. "Then I guess we'll go with that arrangement. You and Kim will take turns controlling her body, she won't know about it for now, but at some point, you and her will talk it out and she has to say yes in order to continue an arrangement like this. And Kim needs to come out, like, now. Her lunch is on the stove still."

Chloe blinked, realizing you were right. "Oh... oh! Right, okay. Logan, thank you so much, you won't regret this, I'll make it work!" Chloe was about to just let Kim take control again, but she realized her attire probably would throw off your girlfriend. "Oh, right." She hurried off to the bedroom.

When Kim returned, she was wearing a t-shirt and a knee-length skirt, strolling over toward the kitchen. She didn't do much more than glance at you as she went to the stove. "Hey Logan, what are you doing home? You're going to get in trouble with work again if you're not putting in your hours." It was Kim, all right. She had this sort of indifference to your presence that she'd developed recently that made you actually wish Chloe was back in charge. But, you didn't say anything about it, as you took a seat at one of the barstools next to the kitchen.

"Our call cut out, you were talking about Dr. Walker and then I didn't hear anything, so I came home to make sure things were okay."

Kim shrugged a little, more focused on salvaging her meal before it burned. "I guess I got bored and took a nap. She seemed insightful, but I don't think we're at the point that we need to waste money on counseling. Us taking a break and getting some space is probably exactly what we need."

You sighed, remembering that arrangement. Kim hummed to herself, almost ready to forget you were there at all, it seemed. Even though it had been your suggestion, it was an attempt to salvage a relationship, not actually what you wanted.

"Well, can we at least talk about things for now?" you asked.

Kim shrugged again, still not making eye contact. "I'd rather not. I just want to have lunch, do a little art, just have a normal day. We can talk later. Like, we need to figure out who goes where to be on a break."

Do you stick around, or head back to work?
