Finding an open seat

You walk through the aisle of the bus, lifting your metal briefcase up a bit so that it doesn't bump anything, and look from side to side for a good spot to sit. Oh, perfect, here looks good!

You take a seat in the second-back row. That way, you're not interfering with the big group of friends that'll inevitably want those back seats, but you can also listen in to them having fun if you want. Plus, it's nice and secluded and cozy. So it's perfect! You take the window seat, of course.

Lexi spots you as she climbs her way onto the bus, long body slouching forward relaxedly. She gives you a little wave by waggling her fingers and blows you a kiss. She's thrown a baggy light grey hoodie on over the top of her school uniform (without taking off the tie or blazer), and she's got the hood up. From here, it looks like the front of the hoodie says "Pull Up if I Pull Up" in bulky black block letters.

She makes her way over and plops down in the seat next to you, smiley as ever, as she tugs some earphones out from her pocket and starts to untangle them.

"Yeah, it's been a totally awesome first week I think." Lexi agrees, with a grin. "I mean, I got to meet my future wife, so that's already huge. Dunno how next week's gonna top it."

She finishes untangling the earphones, then pops them both into her ears. She pulls out a little music player, of a design you've never seen before, and starts pressing some buttons on it.

"Hey, when's your stop? I'm probably gonna nod off to some music, and I don't want to miss saying goodbye."

"O-oh, I get off at Central Kokkinport."

Lexi pauses to consider, then starts tapping away at the device again. "Just wake me when you're leaving. I'm blocking your only escape anyway, so there's no way out of a big sloppy goodbye kiss."

The bus has filled up completely now, and is starting to drive off towards the city. It's a really huge bus, since it needs to fit so many people, so you don't really bother to look around the seats you can see for anybody you know.

"What are you listening to?" You ask, leaning over to get a look at whatever Lexi's holding.

"Jukebox, by Swingrowers. Words remind me of you, actually. It's like, my theme song."

"Oh, cool! What's mine?"

"Your theme song?" Lexi stuffs the device back into her pocket, evidently with the music now playing, then pauses to consider. She moves her hand to her chin contemplatively. "Oh. Okay!" You say. You do realise it's a bit hard to gleam anything from that when you've not actually heard the song, but hey, maybe later.

"Alright dude, I'm gonna hang out and listen to some music until I'm napping. Don't forget to wake me when you're gone."

You give Lexi a thumbs up. She pulls the lever to lean her seat back (which you can do in the second back row, but not the back row! Ha!), wiggles her back into the chair to get comfy, and shuts her eyes peacefully.

Alright then! One busride home, and then the weekend's started. You could probably just stare out the window and pass the time really quickly that way, but if you wanted to have a quick check of who's around you, you might also find somebody to talk to for the whole way home. Decisions, decisions!
