Find nothing but shattered glass.

Dago looked around the alleyway for several minutes, but only found random shards of glass. He found parts of Marian’s glasses; it was obvious they’d be shattered beyond recognition and were now no use to Marian whatsoever. Dago came back to Marian before he remembered he hadn’t yet let him know who was there. Marian was starting to breathe a little bit funny, he noticed. He looked paler than normal and Dago realized with a bit of horror that he must be loosing a lot of blood.

Dago didn’t think at all that not telling Marian what was going on before he did anything was probably a bad idea. Dago crouched down next to Marian and tried to pry his hand off of his bleeding arm. Marian tried to weakly push him away.

“Get the hell off of me,” he said in a fading voice.

Dago didn’t have time to worry about wounding Marian’s ego, so he applied a bit of **** and found that Marian didn’t have the strength to fight back. Dago started to peel off Marian’s jacket in a rush and quickly rolled up his sleeve. There was a large piece of metal embedded into Marian’s arm. Dago grabbed Marian’s wrist in one hand and focused all the pain away from Marian. He winced, but began to dig out the metal from Marian’s arm. Once he was done, he noticed Marian’s eyes beginning to shut. He shook Marian, trying to get him to stay away as he did his best to put pressure on the cut from his arm. He was bleeding pretty badly from the head, too. Thankfully, Dago didn’t see any metal there.

He began to fish the portal tag he kept with him out of his back pocket. He heard a flick of a lighter behind him and before he could turn around. He was suddenly someplace else, outside. He wasn’t sure where the fuck he was, but he could see the first signs of daybreak over the horizon, meaning he needed to get out of there and fast. He glanced around and saw a shabby looking shack and a cave.
