Chapter 4 by fifal fifal

Maia is at the Training Grounds, what should she do?

Find her Mentor

"Master {if MV School == true}Marikis'{elseif Nova School == true}Dujani's{elseif Dyn School == true}Soki's{else}{endif} assistant told me that I'd have some kind of Mentor meet me here"

"Yo, new girl, over here"; a voice calls out from one of the nearby training areas.

Maia sees three people, two women and a man. Two of them, including the man, looked to be about her age. The other was certainly this "Mentor" that Maia was supposed to find. The three of them stood next to each other all looking at Maia as she approached. Although the faces of her assumed peers were still gentle, the face of the older woman looked to be a mix of entirely both fed up and utterly bored. It seemed obvious to Maia that this woman has no interest in being their mentor.

{if MV School == true}"Your name please."{elseif Nova School == true}"What's your name {if Hair Color ID = 6}blondie{elseif Hair Color ID = 5}blondie{elseif Hair Color ID = 4}ginger{else}girl{endif}?"{elseif Dyn School == true}"..."{else}{endif} the woman calls out as Maia nears.

"I'm... I'm Maia. Maia Eidola of The Brightgates" she said, {if Height ID == 0}with a little hesitation{elseif Height ID = 1}feeling a few gazes on her curves{elseif Height ID = 2}with a little hesitation{elseif Height ID = 3}feeling a bead of sweat trickle down her toned back{else@}with a little hesitation{endif}.

The leader of the group spoke with just a hint of friendliness. {if MV School == true}"It's a pleasure to meet you Maia, please come join us, we are just getting to know each other."{elseif Nova School == true}"Well stop wasting our time and get over here."{elseif Dyn School == true}"...come here..."{else}{endif}

A few moments of awkward silence passed, as she sat down, joining the group of strangers. As everyone tends to do, the other three members subconsciously began forming initial notions of Maia that would prove hard to break. {if MV School == true}The one in charge was wearing an outfit of white and gold cloth, revealing much of her smooth, tanned skin. The other two were at opposite ends of the spectrum. One was a skinny boy with pale skin who gave her the slightest of nods looking awkward and out of place; the other was a girl of unreal proportions. She was tall, {if Height ID == 2}a bit taller than Maia herself{else@}much taller than herself{endif}, and her muscles looked to be carved out of stone. Even so, her body was still immaculately feminine, the envy of anyone capable of vision. A goddess, if Maia had ever seen one. The {if Height ID < 2}towering{endif} woman smiled widely; Maia somehow felt warmer.{elseif Nova School == true}The one is charge was wearing thick leather and cloth armor, sporting a large blade on her back. Maia could tell that she was powerful. The other two, her fellow students she assumed, were complete opposites. A man with a strong jawline and short blonde hair quickly rose and bowed to Maia, then retaking his seat. "He must be the same age as me, but he looks almost middle aged. At least he looks strong, I'll need a good rival.". The other student was a skinny girl who was staring off into the sky, ignoring Maia's presence entirely.{else@}The three people looked like large bugs.{endif}

"Now that we are all here, it's about time that we get started. The sooner we get through all the informatial stuff, the sooner we can get to doing some actual Ri spinning. Now listen closely, I don't care to repeat myself." She paused and made eye contact with her three students one after the other before continuing. "My name is {if MV School == true}Seer Riiyah{elseif Nova School == true}Master Spinner Ayin{elseif Dyn School == true}Silver Leaf{else}{endif} and I have been instructed by the Guildmaster to train the three of your for the next year. This means that it's my job to teach you the basics of {if MV School == true}MV{elseif Nova School == true}Nova{elseif Dyn School == true}Dyn{else}Ri{endif} Spinning, how to handle yourselves in combat, technique molding, and about a hundred other things. I've been told that the three of you are categorized as 'special', so that means expectations are sky high for us. All of us."

{if MV School == true}Riiyah continued.{elseif Nova School == true}Ayin continued.{elseif Dyn School == true}Silver Leaf{else@}Her mentor continued.{endif} "I know you all have had a chance to meet with the Guildmaster and you've probably been given some vague information about who-give-a-fuck. I've been told to let you know that whatever that info may be, it's to be kept secret from everyone but this group of the four of us. I guess she wants you all to have someone to complain to, makes sense if you think about it. I already know all your little secrets, but I won't share them for, hmmm, about a month or so. At least until we get past the basics and start having some specialized training. Up to you if you want to talk about your issues with each other before then."

"Oh and one last thing." {if MV School == true}Riiyah{elseif Nova School == true}Ayin{elseif Dyn School == true}Silver Leaf{else@}She{endif} looked Maia directly in the eyes.

"Please don't fuck each other."

Certainly {if MV School == true}Riiyah{elseif Nova School == true}Ayin{elseif Dyn School == true}Silver Leaf{else}{endif} was a bit more intense than she had expected, but at the very least she was strong. As for the other two students, {if MV School == true}Maia was honestly excited to have peers at her level, fellow students to learn from. Strill, the dark haired, sad looking guy didn't seem like he had much potential but the statuesque Dioh certainly had plenty to compensate. She was tall, muscular, and had a far more advanced understanding of Ri than Maia herself.{elseif Nova School == true}They were both powerful, yet not exactly what Maia would consider "normal". Lavil was an overly competitive, emotional meathead. He lost his temper a half dozen times and threatened **** on all of them at least once. Despite his loose temper, he quickly picked up what Ayin was teaching, sometimes before she even finished explaining it. He was certainly a challenge she would need to surpass on the way to becoming the strongest. Ayl, short for some unpronounceable foreign name, was a different story. She didn't seem to desire strength, often changing her spinning techniques to, as Ayl herself phrased, express herself. To Maia it sounded like nonsense, but at the very least she wasn't slowing the lessons down. Ayl always seemed to have distant thoughts, staring off into the sky, while still practicing the Spinning techniques.{elseif Dyn School == true}"...these people are weird..."{else}{endif}
