Find a place to stay
The sun was now low in the sky. Faelith started to think of a good place to stay. Some place near the mayor's estate would be good, and somewhere affordable. She was given twenty five-hundred gold for this mission, more than enough to last her, but that didn't mean she could freely spend her funds. She wandered through the streets for what seemed like an eternity, not finding a single inn until it was already dark. What she found looked was a rundown building with a sign that read The Inn At The Edge.
To Faelith's surprise, however, the inside was rather... nice. There weren't too many occupants, about seven from what she could see. Half of them were passed out from their ****, the other three were at the bar murmuring to each other. As Faelith entered, the three men's focus shifted to her. They all took in her voluptuous body, staring lustfully at her tits that bounced with every step she took. They probably would have kept staring had they not noticed the massive sword she carried with her. Then they returned to whatever they had been talking about.
"Welcoooooooome!!" A young woman with bright orange hair in a barmaid's dress ran from a backroom with two mugs in her hands. She dropped one in front of a man passed out at a table who jumped awake then immediately fell back asleep. The other she shoved into Faelith's hands. "Holy crap! You're huge" The barmaid stared up at Faelith with wide eyes and an awestruck expression.
Faelith had never been one for conversation and this was a whole different level of awkward. "Thank you?" She said, unsure of what to do. She took a sip of the mug to try and calm her nerves. The barmaid pushed her to a seat at the bar and ran around to the opposite side.
"What's your name, m'lady?" She said with a slight bow and chuckle. "My name's Eni, the head barmaid here at 'The Inn At the Edge'! So who are you and what can we do to help you?"
"Um... my name's Faelith," she replied, still unsure of why this girl was so eager to learn about her. But it helped to know that the inn was run by someone like Eni, maybe it wasn't as bad as it seemed on the outside.
"Well, Faelith, what brings you to our glorious little inn? Here on vacation? Business trip?"
"Business. I'm supposed to help the mayor fix up the town starting tomorrow," Faelith explained to the very eager girl.
"Oh yeah? Well, good luck with that!" Eni laughed and so did the men at the bar.
"Anyway, I'd like a room for the next few weeks, if you please," Faelith said with a smile.
"Of course! You can have our best room. It's normally seven coins a night but for an extended stay, we can do five."
"Why is it more expensive than the others?" Faelith asked curiously.
"Because it's the best damn room in all of Thornhold!" Eni responded immediately and proudly. "It's got a bed fit for a king! A great view, a personal bathroom, room service, and a few perks thrown in for ya!"
Faelith was now rather intrigued. "Alright, I'd like that."
"Great! Just go around the counter and to the back and up the stairs, second floor, all the way at the end of the hall, Room eight. Only the best for our esteemed knight-queen, M'lady!" Eni said with a playful wink.
Faelith couldn't help but laugh at the silly girl's comment. She left her payment and tip on the counter before turning to leave. As she did so, she caught wind of the three men at the counter talking and staring at her.
"Did you see her? I'm gonna fuck her, damn her sword," one of the men chuckled.
"Are you stupid? She would probably run you through," another replied.
The third turned his attention to Eni. "You had her drink a house special."
She giggled at him. "What can I say? She's pretty. And pretty ladies deserve to have fun." The three men fell into a laughing fit that echoed in the room.
Faelith settled in for the night after taking a long bath. It was the first proper bath she'd had in days. But once she entered the spacious and comfy bedroom, all her worries seemingly melted away. She never would have imagined such luxury inside such a rundown building. Eni certainly had a knack for giving the right impression.
