Find Barb

Escape. Jerry mulls it over. What she is learning is fascinating, but she wants back to the real world.

She pictures her room and walks. Barb is there waiting.

“So any ideas how to escape?”

Jerry makes a face. “I found a door yesterday, but it was enormous and locked. I have yet to see a window, but there has to be a roof.”

“That’s brilliant. So we just focus on the roof and walk?”

“That’s the idea.”

Jerry and Barb begin walking.

“How was your class Barb?”

“Fuck, it was good. Professor Card is so hot.”

“Dish.”

“He is tall, with coal black hair and dark piercing eyes. His voice is deep and sexy. The way he moves is graceful, yet so masculine. Do you think it’s ok to sleep with your professor?”

“Barb I don’t really think there are any rules in this place.”

Barb licks her lips. “Is it ok if part of me is disappointed if we escape?”

Jerry laughs. “Absolutely.”

A door looms in front of them. Jerry pushes it open. They walk out onto the roof. Jerry gasps at the view.

The air is thin and they are surrounded by snow capped mountains. The sky is filled with dark, nearly black clouds. The roof is made of stone. Parapets and towers abound. Jerry looks over the edge. It’s a sheer fall of at least five stories into craggy rocks.

Jerry grins. “All we need to do is find a way down and back to civilization...”

Barb frowns. “What the hell was that!”

“A bird?”

“That’s no bird sound I’ve ever heard. Jerry, I know this might sound crazy, but I think we should consider the possibility that we aren’t on our Earth anymore.”

“Don’t be rid...”

“Jerry, I think we should go inside.”
