The next morning, John was somewhat confused to have his doorbell ring first thing after waking up. As he opened up and saw the two tall blondes from yesterday looking like CIA agents he remembered, however. Maybe it was time to find out how much money he actually had in this world.

John called 'the voice' once again. The only person who seemed to know about his weird situation about being thrown into this world out of another life. After ringing a few times, the familiar voice picked up "Hello John." It always felt so strange talking to that woman. Still, there was something he needed to know.

"Uhmm, hi. Listen I have a question for you." John began."Yes, I figured. Shoot." She sounded a bit amused. "Yeah er, well... This may sound like a silly thing to ask but... How much money do I have? I mean I have not been to work ever since getting here and I was not exactly a Rockefeller before."

"Oh" she went at the other end of the line. 'Oh' was not the kind of thing you want to hear when discussing your finances, right? But then she went on "Did I not tell you that in the beginning? Silly me I must have forgotten. Anyway. You do not have to worry about that. Well, within a reasonable limit that is. Let me explain. Your bank account is monitored by us and always kept at a level where you can comfortably afford everything you could want in everyday life." More confused than informed John prompted her to go on "Huh?"

"Let me elaborate. You will always have enough money to, let's say buy food, pay rent, and such. Even if you decide to go out to eat 3 times a day. You will also be able to afford a new phone and computer and TV and anything of that sort. Good ones, too. I mean, we will not provide you with a sum that lets you buy up the entire real estate market of the island or something insane like that, but for all practical purposes, money should not be an issue in your life. Use your card until it glows."

John smiled. Realizing she could not see that over the phone, he said "That is good to know. Thank you. I will let you get back to.. well whatever it is you do then. See you."

John hung up. Well, it seemed like his adventures in the mall yesterday were unnecessary. Still, no reason not to fuck those girls at the electronic store, right? Grinning from ear to ear in the knowledge of his new financial freedom, John stepped out of the door.
