Finally!

You feel strangely numb as you make yourself decent. After everything that's happened you're just too worn out to feel much of anything. It's all just been too much. Thankfully, Dani is feeling enough for the both of you.

"So what's going on? Have you always been crazy powerful? Did you already know about Becca's dick? Oh! Are you a justicar?! Are they real?!"

Ms. Opal holds up her hands, "Easy, girl! I'll start at the beginning. First, my name isn't Opal, it's Nala."

That makes your ears twitch and your eyes narrow.

"So, your name's Nala and you can turn into a black cat?"

She smiles and nods, "I often take that form to patrol this area. And to get free ear scritches. What Dani said is true, I am a justicar, a witch who guards humanity against supernatural threats. Last night you were attacked by a foul creature in human form, one that feeds by dominating and defiling others. I held it off, with your assistance, and managed to sever some of its power before it fled."

You blink and point at yourself, "MY assistance?"

"Indeed. You kicked him right between his legs and stunned him long enough for me to strike."

Dani bursts out laughing.

"You really fucked his shit up, huh?!" she cackles.

"What happened afterward?" you press.

She frowns, "I am ashamed to say I could not hold the power for long. I needed to contain it lest it return to its original owner. You offered yourself but I had no time to properly explain the... repercussions of your choice. When the change happened you fled and tried to drown your newfound sorrows. I've been keeping an eye on you since, making sure the power does not corrupt you nor run wild within you."

You start to spit back that you don't need her babysitting you, angry that she was silently stalking you. But then you glance towards the splintered wood that was once a sturdy baseball bat and shiver. What else could you do? What might you do if you go crazy like a minute ago and start fucking everything that moves?

A thought occurs to you and you blurt, "Do you know why I was naked this morning?"

"Oh, that. When I checked up on you in your room you were very 'flustered' and I thought it best to..."

You have your arms, "I get it! That's enough!"

Dani giggles, "You two totally banged!"

"So how do I get rid it?" you sigh.

Nala frowns, "You don't. I'm sorry but I cannot take the power into myself or else I would. My own powers would interact poorly with the energies and it would simply be released upon my likely ****."

Your heart sinks. After all this insanity this is the outcome? You got this far only to learn that it was all for nothing?

"Well, what about me?" You both turn and look at Dani who lifts her chin. "You said YOU can't take it, but I could, right?"

Nala slowly nods, "You very well could. I must admit, my roundabout way of assisting you both had its own purpose. I've watched you both, your passion for the Art, your amazing self-control, and I believe you both have the makings of powerful witches. I had hoped to convince you both to become my apprentices but Dani does offer a new path. I could give her the power, train her, and you, Rebecca, could go back to your normal life. But be warned, Dani. Rebecca shows incredible restraint from the influence of this power. You may not fair so well." She turns to you and says, "Ultimately, the choice is yours according to our laws."

They both look at you and you glance away. How the hell are you supposed to make such an important decision? You could get your old life back but at what cost to Dani? She's been nothing but a friend and she's offering herself up, but can she really handle this? Should she? But then again, are you really prepared to leavr your old life behind and go become some kind of crazy super hero? Risking your life and continuing to be a freak for the rest of your life? Of course, you'd be a freak with Dani by your side. Whatever the case, the choice seems to be entirely yours.
