File #2 Ending 0.2 - Truth buried

On June 1st, when Fran realized that you had never come back after your meeting with Sherry, she tried to find you.

She went to the cafe. The Sentinel was still sitting quietly by the road, but neither the waiters there nor the people living nearby saw where you had been after you left in the morning.

She tried to call Leonard, but the call never went through. She heard that something was happening in the Smith Mansion and police officers and doctors had been sent there to help. She tried to go to the mansion by herself, but the main road had been blocked by the police and she couldn't get past.

She visited Dr. Jones at the clinic and told him that you went missing. Eventually she was led to the cabin in the forest and met the so-called expert, Valerie Grimm, a huntress who dedicated her life to hunting down werewolves. After hearing what Fran said, Valerie was so sure that you had been attacked by a werewolf and got infected, that you might've already turned after all this time.

Fran refused to believe it. She had been waiting for you in town for another two days, but good news never came. With the growing disturbance around the town, she accepted Valerie's advice. On June 4th, Dr. Jones personally drove Fran to the airport and accompanied her back to Raven Harbour.

Of course, you wouldn't know any of this, because you died.

The outbreak reached the town at dusk the same day Fran left, when a dozen lycanthropes suddenly appeared in every corner of the town and began to attack everyone on sight. Their victims were either dead or infected and turned into mindless slaves succumbed to the pheromone who knew nothing but eat and fuck. And that further spread the infection. Only a few police officers were stationed in town at the time, so no one was capable of stopping all of them. By midnight, Howland Town had already fallen. What echoed in the nightsky next weren't its struggles to survive, but its moans to enjoy.

You broke out of the jail at around 2 a.m. on June 5th. You returned to the hotel room and tried to find Fran, only to fall into the trap that Valerie had set for you. She knew dark creatures too well. She knew you would come back for your love after you turned. And she mercifully ended your suffering.

She went out to kill every lycanthrope she saw until she lost all hope. She couldn't turn the tide alone. No one has heard from her since then. No one knew what she did in her final moments. No one seemed to care.

Several days later, the state government claimed that Howland Town was buried by a disastrous landslide and its population was tragically lost. The Smith Mansion in the forest was burnt down to rubble, and the family did not survive. People of the state mourned the deaths once a year, but that's it. The world hasn't changed a bit.

Fran waited for weeks, but you never returned. Your agency was closed a month later, because it meant nothing without you. For the next few years Fran didn't give up on looking for you. She waited for you. But eventually she lost hope. She sold her bar to a friend and went back to her hometown.

She lived safely ever after. Ironically, she didn't encounter any dark creatures or lustful monsters, and cherished the memories she shared with you for the rest of her life.

Of course, you wouldn't know any of this, either, because **** meant the end.

All of this was a vision Lady **** granted you before you reached the final destination, so that you knew Fran would be safe, and you could leave this corrupting world and rest in peace.
