Chapter 6
by Uh-Oh
Surprise!
Fight to the fur-flying end!!
Amidst the snarling and yelling surrounding him, his mind tumbled along with their bodies. Grey desperately was trying to think of a way to escape his inevitable flaying at the bottom of the hill. The only thing keeping this animal from tearing him completely apart was the constant rolling and falling. The alternative was better than the other fate, but it stained what remained of Grey?s shirt with blood as her claws sunk deep into his back.
Only a little ways to go. The hill was tapering off, and their toppling was slowing down. Her thrashing subsequently increased. Grey bit off a yell before it escaped his throat while her clawed feet scratched at his shins.
?Think, damn it, think!? Grey thought in a panic. Adrenalin, though very helpful for fighting and running away, does not help one think coherently in most cases. Random thoughts bombarded him, such as his truck stalling on the way here, the hippie flower he smelled, the cat woman?s fur against his skin? the feel of her warm breasts squishing against his chest?
?No! Get your head out of the gutter!? Grey and his wonderful companion had reached the bottom of the hill. Only inertia was keeping them going, and that was quickly dwindling. Grey struggled with himself more than he fought with the girl, trying to silence the constant thoughts of how her stomach pressed against his own, of how her legs wrapped around his, how her hips pressed into his own?
They stopped. She was on top of him, her body still pressed into his. Grey felt the ground spinning under him, threatening to drop him into the air at any moment. Her golden eyes opened and stared into Grey?s. She was gaining her bearings faster than he was by far. Before he could even hope to roll away, she was straddling his chest again with her claws drawn out like daggers.
She put her armed hands on his shoulders, grasping firmly so that the tattered remains of his shirt were torn once again. Her head got closer to his. Her feline eyes scanned him over with interest. Grey felt like a mouse that got caught by a barn cat.
?Are you going to just sink your teeth into me or what!?? Grey yelled as best he could, though it came out more like a **** whisper. She recoiled in surprise, sitting straight up without her lethal claws pointed at his neck. Grey took the opportunity.
He wrenched his body to the side, throwing her off of him. She fell onto the soft grass, and before she could even get her hands on the ground to spring back up he was on top of his hunter. He had only a few moments to figure out what to do as he had his predator struggling beneath his body. Then a thought struck him like a brick falling from the sky. She was starting to raise her nailed paws to slash at Grey, but Grey struck faster than even her feline reflexes.
Everything stopped. Her struggling legs froze on the ground. Her half-raised arms were caught in mid air. The fiery swishing of her tail was instantly quenched. It curled around Grey?s leg and stopped like the rest of her body. He dared not to move either, in case that time would start her **** back up again.
He heard his blood pounding in his earsas his heart pounded in his chest. A slight breeze disturbed the wildflowers and grass, making them move like a wave on water. ?So tranquil in such a dangerous situation? thought Grey as he held his furry assassin at bay. He felt her chest moving against his. Her breathing was shallow.
Grey?s jaws were tense as they grappled onto his hunter. Being the intellectual he was, he had remembered watching many discovery shows about wild cats and their behaviors. While trying to subdue each other, they would battle for a bit, scratching and slashing at each other. The victor would end up with his or her jaws around the other?s neck, holding them down but not injuring them.
Apparently, it worked on this cat too. She was dead still. She was looking around wildly, her breath coming in pants as Grey?s teeth clenched on the sensitive skin beneath her fur. He could feel her muscles; tense and quivering while he tightened his jaw around her neck. It suddenly occurred to Grey that the act of biting the opponent also was used in mating.
?Whoa, I feel kinky?? Grey thought before-
?NASHA!!! NASHA!!!?
Grey was so startled he jumped away from her like she suddenly was engulfed in flames. He backed up against the hill, facing the recently screaming girl. Her eyes were as wide as his as they stared at each other. As quickly as Grey leap from her body, she sprang back into a hunter?s stance. Grey was just half sitting, half laying against the steep part of the hill. Her posture looked like she was furious, as the hair on her back was standing straight on end. But her terrifying gesture was offset by the fearful look in her eyes.
?Wha? Y-you can speak Greek!?? She growled deep in her chest, never taking her eyes off of him. Then she barely nodded her head. Grey?s curiosity got the better of him, and he moved towards her cautiously, crawling on his hands and knees since his shaking legs seemed to have forgotten how to walk. She didn?t move and inch, yet it felt like she could move at the speed of light with her muscles so tensed.
?Then why the hell were you attacking me? Why were you trying to kill me!??
?Nobody?? Her voice was shaky yet forceful. Grey could heard the fear in it amidst the hateful tone, ?I-is supposed to touch my? my?? Her eyes got wide as she stared behind Grey. He saw her looking past him, and he started to turn around when he felt a stabbing pain in his back.
He tried to scream, but the needle-like weapon dug deeper between his shoulder blades. He felt a hot sensation flooding his body from that pieced point, like liquid fire was seeping into his muscles. He fell on the ground, his muscles cramping up and refusing to work any longer. The sides of his vision slowly blackened.
As he lie prone on the ground, apparently dying of some sort of poison, he saw a pair of red-furred legs walk past the side of him. The **** had gotten to his neck, paralyzing it with the rest of his body. The new creature didn?t seem to make a sound as it walked over to the original cat.
They started to speak, but the conversation never reached Grey?s mind. The sounds mixed together into a buzzing jumble of incoherent noise. The last pinprick of vision finally was snuffed out, but not before seeing the two furred creatures walking towards him.
Curiosity killed the human?
