Field Trip

Perhaps you've seen pictures or even video of M'gann's spaceship and thought "man that's cool" well let me tell you something, getting to actually fly in it is so much cooler. The seats adjust to be their most comfortable shape completely on their own. It's also very quiet and roomy inside, nothing like a jet. The stealth abilities are just icing on the cake.

While Megan flew us south I lounged back and monitored the other ongoing missions. Zatanna had modified her basement to include a dungeon of holding cells, or already had them. She was pretty vague on details there... Normalcy turned out to be even more useful than I had thought. I knew it would keep people from thinking that my having a super harem was strange but it turns out it also made people think the modifications I'd made to them was perfectly normal as well. When the triplets had shown up to intervene in Maxima's latest tantrum, while short the fight was also public and had been picked up by the local news. No one said a thing about expanded assets, longer hair, or even that the three now looked exactly like each other. Just relief that there wouldn't be more property damage, super heroes doing super hero things. Of course they did switch back to their normal costumes instead of going nude, that would probably still have been commented on. Normality did straight up say it didn't cover things like public sex after all. No complaints from me though, being able to have my girls operate in public without arousing suspision was a huge boon.

Turns out Artemis did in fact know where her sister was and was off on the trail with Merida in tow. When I told her I wanted her to bring in her sister she actually asked if I would enslave her mother as well. Apparently she though that was a fair trade for her being able to walk again. Barbara certainly seemed to think so so maybe? I wasn't going to say no to having yet another trained assassin, hell I might capture Sportsmaster just to sell him off to the company in **** for abandoning his family. The jerk.

I got another report from Oracle, this one telling me that Jaina was in custody. Faora and Ursa had had no trouble handling her like I thought, in fact they had decided to practice with their void powers and the socialite was frozen in time. They weren't sure how long they could hold her like that but it was good practice and the reports that two black haired, bullet proof, women had flown off with her wouldn't be tied back to me.

Another report, Power Girl and Galatea had delivered their prisoners successfully. This was going to be another busy night.

Not long after that M'gann was guiding her ship into a landing near the dig site, hopefully not near enough to be noticed though. We were pretty far from any sort of civilization, on a hill overlooking a river valley. You could just barely see any sign of the ancient buildings that were badly overgrown except for a swathe that had been cleared fairly near the river itself.

The two of us reached out with linked minds and soon found a lone intelligence at work in the ruins. Prepped to put her into a deep sleep I gave Oracle the signal to cause the satellite watching overhead the glitch that would disrupt the feed shortly. Neither Lexcorp or the League who was piggybacking it's signal would know what had happened to their archeologist, maybe they'd blame the site itself for some "curse" or something. Hell maybe they'd think she had found something that shorted out their signal.

Oracle gave us the go ahead and we flew down into the valley as Dr. Minerva slumped to the ground. Soon we found both our prize and what Lexcorp was doing out here as Cheetah had fallen over a large chest filled with glowing green crystals she had apparently found in the overgrown city.

"Kryptonite all the way out here? And a hell of a lot of it by the looks of this chest. Lex is going to get the shock of his life when he finds out this stuff no longer works on the Kryptonians left since they are all mine."

"If he can even get a recovery team to pick it up, this place has to be more dangerous than it looks to need someone like Cheetah to work it." Said Megan.

"The chests right here where he can see it" I said hefting the fitfully sleeping demi feline over my shoulder "A quick snatch and grab by helecoptor should be doable as long as they don't get greedy and disturb whatever is in the ruins."

After a quick flight back to the ship I placed Barbara on a couch that had just lifted from the floor, damn this thing was just too cool, I settled back into my own seat as M'gann lifted off and headed back north.

During the trip back I got a last message from Oracle that the triplets had picked up Looker and brought her by Barbara's lair to tell her just how pissed she was about her messing with her mind. Pretty ironic considering what I had in mind but whatever, maybe I'd let Barbara bite Emily for a change. I'd certainly have them "make it up" to each other, one Bat to another, later.

I'd been nervous about this trip honestly, my first time in the field so to speak. And while I'd certainly keep letting others work their own missions there had certainly been some satisfaction in taking down Cheetah myself, even with Megan. Truth is the DCU didn't have a lot of powerful psychics, and working with M'gann was scaling up my own really fast. Taking the Titans later this week didn't seem a daunting task, certainly not once Raven walked into my trap and Blackfire could take on her sister. Cyborg was a wild card, shutting his brain down might not work with computer backup and while the super squad could take him five on one that could be messy and I'd rather it be quiet. maybe Zatanna could whip up a EMP spell.

While I lay back and mused the Martian minx had set her ship to fly back on it's own and the rest of the trip got a whole lot more sexy.
