The look on Fay's face spells out plainly, I don't want to lose you.

You let out a deep sigh and let your head tilt forward. "Maybe this isn't the time," you say. You raise your head. "We'll find something together."

"Yes, we'll find something," Fay says.

You take your leave of Granny Threadneedle with thanks. The fresh air of the Weirding Woods around Threadneedle wakes you up as you leave her smoky cottage. You make your way back to Threadneedle, pick up your brooms, and fly back to Boarbristle with a bit of foreboding. What will the Warden say when you tell her you're not ready to make a choice?

You and Fay catch up with Golondrina at the evening meal.

"I was wondering where you two were," she says, brushing back her long red hair. Golondrina is as tall as you, maybe taller, with broad shoulders, muscled like the Warden, but long rather than stocky. She listens to your story, at least the parts you're willing to share in front of the rest of House Leontes. "Haha, Granny Threadneedle sounds like quite a character."

Fay says, "You'll never guess what she was doing when we first saw her."

"Dancing with fairies? Herding Cockwalkers?" Golondrina says.

Fay laughs. "Ahaha, close," she says. She leans close to Golondrina's ear and whispers, Milking the seed out of a centaur stallion's horse-cock.

Golondrina's eyebrows lift. She grins. "Tell me more later."

After supper you take to the baths together. Fay does most of the talking, with you adding a word here and there.

"You're not ready to choose a specialty?" Golondrina asks you.

"We weren't," Fay says.

"We wanted to choose it together," you say. "For both of us?" For all of us? you think.

"Maybe I should ask the Housemaster if he has any thoughts," Golondrina says. "He sponsored me, you know."

And he knows that you're secretly one of the Dragonfolk.
