Fast food

After several rejections Kim quickly runs down her list of choice jobs she finds an application for cashier work at the Crumbly Chicken as her last option. It's not glamorous, but Kim needs to start working as soon as possible. Arriving at the restaurant in a pencil skirt suit she asks about the job and is directed to an office in the back of the building. Opening the door her nerves are immediately relieved as she recognizes a classmate from last semester at the desk inside.

He looks up from the laptop on the large wooden desk and smiles at her

“Kim? What are you doing here? You look nice.”

Sam sat next to her in an advanced Math class this past year, she knew he worked a ton but had never talked with him enough to know where. He was dressed in a Crumbly Chicken polo and jeans, Kim blushes from his comment and immediately feels overdressed. She steps in giving him a smile, trying to will her cheeks back to their normal color

“Thank you, It's nice to see you Sam. I, umm I’m here ‘bout the cashier job. Is it still available?”

He smiles back. Sam was a nice guy, really smart if a bit nerdy at times. Fairly tall, he was scrawny and had a bit of an acne problem, wore glasses and had blond hair and blue eyes. Kim was worried she gave him the wrong idea once last fall when they met to study for a test she brought two of her friends with her and caught Sam preparing what looked like a date. At least Kim hadn't heard of anyone studying by candlelight before . . .

He nods and spins around opening a cabinet behind him retrieving a sheet of paper.

“Here is the paper application, there is an online one but honestly it's kinda a pain in the ass. Have your friend fill this out and bring it to me and I’ll see what I can do.”

Kim takes her already filled out application and hands it to him

“Like this?”

Looking the filled out form over, confusion fills his face

“Wait, you're looking to work here?”

Kim nods her head causing Sam to break into a big smile

“Well then please sit down, let's talk.”

The two sit down and go though what Kim was very used to by this point. Kim talks about her volunteer work, the month she helped out in her dads office, her future plans, She felt a ton more relaxed talking with a classmate then any of the old men she had interviewed with this past week or so. She even caught Sam’s eyes wandering down to her bust like the sleazy Model recruiter she talked too yesterday, but for some reason she didn't mind it nearly as much. Maybe it was cause Same was only a year older then her and not twice her age, he wasn't particular cute but she did like how tall he was. As they reached the end of the interview Sam glaces up from her application and asks if she has any questions for him and for once in a interview she did.

“Not trying to be rude, but how are you the Manager of this place as a highschool student?”

He laughs and turns around a photo frame on the desk so Kim can see it, the image of an older man and Sam standing in front of a grand opening sign.

“My dad really runs this place, technically on paper I’m an Assistant manager but he never visits this location any more so I have full run on how everything works.”

he smiles clearly proud of himself and Kim has to admit she is impressed. She could barely manage a debate team much less a whole business.

Sam sits back and looks directly as Kim a mischievous grin on his face

“With that in mind my last question for you is, ‘What's the most **** thing you would do to get a job’ “

He folds his hands behind his head as if getting ready to watch a performance

The sudden shift in tone throws Kim off guard as her relaxed self shrinks away replaced with new nerves as she quickly tries to figure out what Sam could possibly be looking for . . . he couldn't possibly be asking that she . . .
