Fast-Talk to the Truth

He got caught, red-handed and without excuse or permission. He was on the clock at work, but that was an infinitely small worry next to being caught inseminating some kind of special needs college student.

How would he cushion the blow of what the person at the door would soon discover? How was he going to explain the delay in responding to the now-second round of heavy knocking, the situation inside this room, the sprawled and fucked woman on the table, and the fluids here or there that perfumed and stained the the tiny, windowless chamber. To an outsider, surely the room reeked with the sex he just had with the recently-deflowered girl he was now desperately trying to get dressed.

Gina eventually helped in dressing herself--she had willed him to dress her, she assumed as he looped her panties onto her ankle backwards, but he was terrible at it--and soon Caleb was looking around for towels, a trash can, anything at all to do... anything. But the chairs, the table, and the lone waste bin with no bag offered nothing to help. The laptop screensavers bounced idly from where they sat, abandoned. Her bag might have some useful knick-knacks for wiping her off his face or wiping “him” off the table and floor where the last of his baby batter had dribbled, but the knock became more insistent until, with a terrifying click, a key slid into place.

Time was up. Caleb rushed to the door while Gina struggled to hastily clip her bra while also rushing to that side of the room. Caleb was relieved at her quick thinking: if he could keep the door opened only slightly, maybe the person on the other side wouldn't catch sight of her getting dressed. With his foot planted like a pillar in the arc of the door, he caught it just as Gina lined up against the wall and out of sight.

Caleb felt the door get pushed harder, but he now filled the crack of the doorway as he prevented it from opening any further. Filling his vision in turn was a pretty, but annoyed face. She was dark-skinned and curvy, with brown eyes that shimmered as she took quick stock of Caleb and his barring of her way. She had only briefly locked eyes with him as he loomed over her--she was of average height and they were inches apart through that crack--before she gave up pushing on the door and instead tried to sneak glances around his body. The stranger sniffed the air, and her face wrinkled at what her nose found.

I'm so fucked. "H-Hi!" Caleb awkwardly greeted.

"Good morning,” she greeted flatly. “I’m with the library. There were reports of... sounds... coming from here," she grumbled with pauses and irritation as he blocked her last attempts to look inside. "Are you alone? This room was reserved by one student who had a guest." Caleb briefly remembered the interaction at the counter with the gentleman who took Gina's information, but he didn't recall signing in himself. Maybe they just recorded him going in? Maybe the guy saw he was coming along? More evidence for the police, either way, he hypothesized in growing panic.

Gina didn't slow down her efforts to throw clothes back on, but she didn't chime in either, leaving Caleb to play decoy. Just as she wants, he bitterly thought. "Y-Yeah, we're just... getting to those final exams, haha."

"It's the middle of the semester,” the stranger shot back.

"Mid-terms! Haha, yeah!" Caleb's voice cracked as he failed to mentally wrestle his mouth shut. He couldn't think of anything sharp to say to buy time, so he just had to hope she gave him any ideas.

Despite her obvious disbelief, she still didn’t address him holding the door still. The stranger's scalp, Caleb’s suddenly noticed, was covered in an elaborate, beautiful black tattoo of geometric patterns interrupted with blooming flowers, and not just stubble on an otherwise bald head. The tattoos crept down and around her neck to reach into her plain, cream-colored blouse, and his wandering eyes too soon found themselves jumping back to her eyes to avoid detection.

Her frown deepened. She was busty, or at least bustier than Gina, so it was hardly his fault-

Focus, man! "We-We'll study more quietly."

"You can... say that, sure, but there’s still all the noise already made. Was it you…” Her expression darkened. “… or the girl I can hear getting dressed behind this door?"

Caleb's blood froze. Gina stopped rustling her stockings back on with a horrified expression. Caleb's mouth opened, but words did not come out for a beat. Of course the librarian didn’t demand to barge in… she already had them in her trap.

At last, keeping Gina out of focus until she was dressed was settled as Caleb’s new priority. "M-Me!" he ejaculated, **** to keep the focus on him.

The girl recoiled as if struck... and shook her head. "I... well... it was you?"

"Y-Yep, just me, hah... just me. Doing a little… workout, you know." In a windowless, tiny room where someone was ostensibly studying. Caleb thought to revise his lie, but it was too late for that. The tattooed librarian shook her head, her eyes widening as if realizing something terrible. Had the fuck funk finally rolled out of the room enough for her to know the truth? Did he give something away in his **** answers? Caleb couldn't be sure, but he couldn't go anywhere, either. He was stuck.

"You... oh God, why would I...?" Her line of questioning took a weird turn, one that sounded familiar, but not familiar enough to jog Caleb out of his frantic state.

"H-Hey... we'll be out of here soon, I promise, and we'll… clean up, OK? So can we… forget about this whole…?” He couldn’t decide whether to come clean or keep up the ridiculous bullshit, but Gina had to be almost dressed by now, right? He did not dare risk her a glance in front of the sentinel at the gates.

"O-Of course you'll... clean... b-but... Jesus," the woman sighed, "why would I have you..." She looked around as if peering for witnesses, baffling Caleb as the truth slowly crept up until, with a whisper, she hissed, "Look, I don't know why I made you to fuck a student in our library and then lie about it but... but stop it now, OK? Just pack up and get out of here, I could lose my job here, alright?"

Caleb, stunned by her admission that she knew exactly what had transpired, was nodding robotically as his mind raced... but then he thought. And then he considered.

Caleb's nodding slowed. “Made…?” The word had escaped while his brain churned. Is she..? She couldn't be. There’s no way, right? He looked her over again… and asked slowly, “So why did I… even come here?”

It was not a question any normal person would have a real, direct answer to, except perhaps a snarky “to fuck the delusional girl on campus” or a blank “how could I know that?”, so it seemed a good test.

The woman replied the only way she could. “Because I **** you to do so. Can’t remember why,” she muttered, “but I bet it wasn’t to do that during library hours... at least not originally, no, but why?”

As the self-doubting public servant spun loops of
logic around her own brain, everything slowed as if to give Caleb the final revelation. Caleb had missed the first evidence of how the world changed. He had misinterpreted the second. Here, now faced with the third, Caleb’s mind reeled as the truth finally came into focus:

The library hired a woman with the same condition as Gina?!

A few beats later, the actual truth came into focus as the only alternative… but this new one seemed even more ludicrous. He had spoken to his parents last night—about how he isn’t going back to school, as usual—and they weren’t half as… accommodating as Gina and this woman. For this strange circumstance to somehow be from him, like some kind of superpower over his fellow man, it would have to have shown up overnight. Improbable as these two women having the same debilitating condition was, Caleb gaining some kind of new superpower this morning was crazier.

A male student walked near and, with a wrinkled nose, stopped to peek at the two talking at the door. This third stranger would prove Caleb didn’t have superpowers, surely. “Hey, guy, tell me your name,” Caleb suddenly called out.

The young man was startled, and he answered as a question, “Peter?”

“Why did I ask you that?” The librarian was baffled, but Peter was about as bewildered as he scratched the mop of blonde hair atop his head.

Nervously, he answered, “Eh, sorry… dunno why I made you ask that, dude, but uh, have a nice… day?” Peter, baffled at his agency over the complete stranger, was quick to leave the scene… and leave Caleb stunned.

Caleb looked the librarian over again, not bothering to hide his ogling this time, but then went back to looking around at the other students as she softly apologized to a nearby group. She apologized for his outburst, he realized, and he would have wondered if that group had been the one to report them… but his thoughts found the new wall in his head insurmountable, eternally reaching into the clouds above and below the earth.

I… I have… superpowers. Or magic, he reasoned. Or psychic powers, he further guessed. There were no flashy lights and no other powers… that he knew of. How did he come to possess the key to the minds of others, to slip like a spy into their private minds the notions of where his actions came from? He looked back at Gina, seeing she was finally fully dressed but also at how embarrassed and terrified she was of how things had developed.

Looking between them, he realized the obvious paradox that needed resolution. That Peter guy had outright claimed to make Caleb ask… but that wouldn’t comport with how these women now thought. “Who here asked me to bother that guy?”

Gina raised a shaky hand, still intent on not being noticed. The librarian hastily spat, “I did, now please leave the library immediately.” Gina’s face showed her confusion, but the whole thing has cleared up perfectly for Caleb.

His superpower was clear… if silly, in times like these. Caleb eyed the librarian, being a hot tattooed woman now theoretically at his mercy. He thought to the bombshell blonde who might be in the building still. He thought to all the nerd women in need of dick on campus, his boss with her fat tits, his high school crush, the high school neighbor with the fat ass… all the world of women waiting to serve him. Not just the women… He wasn’t bi, but men and women both could fall under his control. What power could he maneuver himself into by swaying the people wielding it to believe they meant to empower him?

If he thought it through carefully, if he acted and spoke in the right ways… he could have anything.

An overwhelming sense of power and authority, paradoxically flowing from the realization that everyone believed themselves to be his master, flooded Caleb with megalomania that too easily found a home in the man.
