Fantasy and Monsters

Looking at the options, Penelope took a deep breath before pointing towards one of the aisles near the center of the store. "Since it's for a Halloween party, maybe something that fits the season?" After all, aside from the confidence boost and the worries about Delilah's straying eyes, she wanted to have a costume that fit the occasion.

"Oh? Now, that's quite interesting. A bold choice." The store's owner smiled as she led the way, taking Penelope into the heart of the store, surrounding by magical costumes that could change her forever. "Do any of them catch your eye?"

There was an astounding variety to choose from.

To one side came a vast assortment of monster classics: all manner of vampires, from Nosferatu to Anne Rice; Frankenstein Monsters, book accurate and classic film and Bride Of; werewolves and werecats and werebears and every wereanimal one could imagine. Devils and ghosts and zombies, it was a veritable smorgasbord of monster mashing.

On the other side were tamer costumes, by some definition of the term, geared more towards traditional fantasy than to horror. Elves, of course, be they high or woof or dark or blood or half, but also dwarves, halflings, hobbits (weren't those basically the same thing?), gnomes, orcs, goblins, dragonborn, warforged, singers, kandra, stone eaters, and about a few dozen other options that Penelope had never heard of.

Both sides had their obvious picks, the clear winners, but that which would pull Penelope's interest the most?
