Fancy Footwear

You quickly pushed the thought of what you were wearing under your pants out of your mind as you got dressed. It didn't matter what you were wearing, nobody could see your underwear unless you showed them, right? You decided to chalk up the strange occurrences to a practical joke and continue on with your day.

As you walked to your car, you couldn't help but feel like everyone was staring at you. Were they all in on the joke too? Was there something on your face? You quickly arrived at your car and got in, sighing with relief. Maybe the jokes would stop now that you were out of the office.

Driving to work, you couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The car felt different, the seats felt different, even the air felt different. As you drove down the highway, the car suddenly veered to the left and you had to quickly correct it. What was going on? You glanced down at your feet and noticed that you were wearing women's shoes! High heels, to be exact.

You pulled over to the side of the road and got out, looking around to make sure no one was watching. You kicked off the heels and looked around your car for your own shoes, but they were nowhere to be found. In their place were more women's shoes. Flats, sandals, boots, stilettos. Every kind of women's shoe you could imagine.

You couldn't believe what was happening. Was someone trying to humiliate you? Or was there something more sinister at play? You didn't have time to dwell on it, though. You needed to get to work. You quickly put on a pair of black flats and got back in the car.

As you walked into the office, you tried to act as if everything was normal. You greeted your coworkers, smiled, and made small talk. But all the while, you were acutely aware of the sensation of the women's shoes on your feet. It was uncomfortable and strange, and you couldn't wait for the day to be over.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur. You tried to focus on your work, but the constant distraction of the shoes made it difficult. You couldn't wait to get home and change into something more comfortable. As you packed up your things and headed for the door, you felt a sense of relief wash over you.

But as you walked out of the building, you couldn't help but notice that the world looked different. Everything was brighter, the colours more vibrant. The flowers in the park across the street seemed to glow with a strange energy. You felt a sense of disorientation, like you were in a dream.

And then you heard a voice.

"Hello, dear. It's time for your next task."

You spun around, but there was no one there. You looked up and down the street, but there was no one in sight. You shook your head, thinking that you were losing your mind.

But the voice came again.

"Follow the signs, dear. They will lead you where you need to go."

You looked around again, but there was no one there. You felt a shiver run down your spine. What was happening to you? And what did the voice mean by "task"?

You looked down at your feet, at the women's shoes that had somehow appeared on them. And then you saw the sign.

It was a small, handwritten sign on a lamppost. It read "Follow me."

You didn't know why, but you felt compelled to follow the sign. You walked down the street, the women's shoes clicking against the pavement. As you walked, you saw more signs. They were all handwritten, and they all pointed in the same direction.
