Chapter 67 by Calamity_Jim

Family Plans
It turned out that the rest of the lunch date went fairly smoothly. With the exception of Lexi absolutely refusing to vacate your lap following your confession, the conversation had remained positive and happy.
“So how exactly do you plan on keeping up with three women, James.” Your mother eventually blurted out. She was never one to shy away from the hard questions.
“Oh that won’t be a problem, Abigail. Jim is quite an accomplished lover.” Morgana reflexively said something embarrassing as if it was no big deal.
“Morgana! She’s my mom. She doesn’t want to know that stuff.”
“Why?” She asked. “I think a mother would be proud that she raised such a talented son. Right, Lisbeth? You agree with me, right?”
You thought Lisbeth might be embarrassed too and shut Morgana down, but her response surprised you.
“Absolutely. Jim is amazing and practically wears us out everyday. Not that I’m complaining. Morgana and I have even been considering expanding our little family to have 4-5 girls total just to keep him satisfied.”
“Lisbeth!”
It was Lexi’s turn next.
“Daddy probably could handle that many with no issue to be honest. He’s a beast when he gets all violent and pins me down. It makes my insides throb. I can’t wait until I’m filled with his children.”
“LEXI!”
She smiled up at you, mischief written all over her face. It seemed that your confession and your mother’s blessing had removed all sense of inhibition from the cheeky devil.
Your mother seemed unphased by the talk.
“While that’s all well and good, but sex isn’t the only thing to think about. I meant more about money and housing. Four to five women and future children is a lot of people to fit in that tiny apartment. It’s not like that neighborhood is a great place to raise kids either. I can’t have my grandkids raised in such a place.”
Baby fever aside, your mother was right. At the moment, your current living quarters were cramped enough with you, Morgana, and Lisbeth. Now, you’d be adding Lexi to that. Very quickly, that little love nest was becoming way too crowded.
Lisbeth spoke up in the pragmatic tone you were used to from your boss.
“We can make due, Mother. I’m sure between our combined incomes and Morgana managing our money we will be able to afford a larger home in the future.”
Lexi spoke up next in her own business-like tone.
“It’s not like I’m broke either, Abby. I’m fairly wealthy as it is, and I'm not going to let James live in squalor. Since I’ll be sponsored and living with a human, I can actually legally buy a residence now. It’ll just need to be in his name until we pass the one year mark and get married.”
It was your turn to jump in.
“Wait. You don’t have to do that, Lexi. I’ll feel bad if I have to rely on you like that.”
It was true, now that you thought about it. Lexi was actually a very wealthy woman. Living for hundreds of years and being a cunning devil, Lexi was only financially limited by the fact that monster girls had limited legal rights until they paired off and gained citizenship.
“Oh come on. You always spoil me. Let me spoil you this time.” Lexi was looking up at you with big eyes. She had a way of wearing you down when she got all cute and sweet like that. It made you worry about how easily you’d be swayed by a likewise cute daughter.
It was your mother’s turn to cut in again.
“How about I pay for it?”
Everyone at the table looked at your mother in surprise.
“Mom, what’re you talking about? You don’t need to do that.” You said with a nervous chuckle.
“He’s right, mother. We can figure it out, No need to burden yourself with something like that.” It was Lisbeth who spoke out, being an independent-minded person like yourself.
“No. Let me do it.” Your mother looked at you sincerely. “It’s the least I could do, James. When things fell apart for you and Stephanie, I felt really helpless. I didn’t know what I could do for you. As a mother, it’s hard to feel like you can’t help your children no matter how old they get. Let me buy you a house. Think of it as an apology for not telling you about Lexi. If that doesn’t work, let it be my wedding gift to the four of you. It’s an investment in my son’s happiness.”
It was hard for you to face your mother’s sincerity. It was a generous offer, but it also felt like a handout. Morgana’s elegant voice drifted into your mind.
“Let your mother do this for you. It’s obvious that once she gets her mind set on something, there’s no stopping it. Plus, it would be good for our growing family. I know how you think, pet, but letting others help isn’t always a bad thing. You’re sitting here at a table, surrounded by women who love you and want what's best for you. Remember, it’s okay to relinquish control to people you trust. It’s true in the bedroom and life.”
You stared into the pink eyes of your goddess. Then, you looked around the table at the women looking at you. Every set of those eyes were filled with love and trust. These were the people who loved you. You didn’t need to be guarded, prideful, or anxious around them. They’d all seen you at your lowest and stuck with you regardless. Maybe it was okay to let go.
“Fine. Thank you, Mom. We are really thankful for your help.”
Everyone at the table got a big smile, and then the conversation naturally drifted into what the house would need. You suddenly felt weight off of you as your Mom, Lexi, Lisbeth, and Morgana began to brainstorm in excitement. You simply sat there enjoying the reverie with your arms wrapped around Lexi’s waist. A blissful feeling washed over you. It was a good day to be alive, and you were grateful you hadn’t given up.
Leaving the lunch date became an ordeal. Not only had the conversation lasted a long time, but you had quite the difficulty peeling Lexi off of you. It almost felt like she was worried that letting go of you might mean you’d change your mind. You had to make assurances to the little devil that you would in fact come in to complete the paperwork tomorrow, and she could come home with you then. Eventually, she relented, but only after you promised many times.
Your mother said her goodbyes to the three other women. When it came time to say goodbye to you, she gave you a firm hug and a final glance over.
“You really look happy, James. Take care of yourself…and them.”
“I will, mom. Thank you for everything.”
