Explore the hallway ahead.

After passing through the doorways in tandem, both of your groups enter a long perpendicular hall of the same solid stone tiles--a width of two, and a length of twelve, or ten feet by thirty five. It's like stepping foot on graph paper. Everything is so orderly and clean. The few props that have been placed, mostly sconces along the wall, are deliberate and done so with perfect symmetry. This isn't just a dungeon, but one constructed with a certain level of inexperience. In Dungeons & Dragons, if one wishes to make a dungeon feel real and immersive, they must accept that the world isn't so organized. That, and each room you've seen so far has served presumably no purpose beyond acting as obstacles. You even bothered the mysterious voice by skipping what you were meant to go back and do.

You look to the ceiling. Of course nothing is there, though you can't imagine you're being watched from any other angle, especially when the voice emits from all around you like the divine word of some kind of strange god. "I know you're a demon. A Dungeon Lord. But do you have a name?"

After a brief pause, the voice does speak up. Whether or not it counts as conversation is up for debate. "You shout to seemingly nobody at all. Perhaps the difficulty of the dungeon you are sealed within has driven you mad."

Your eyes lower straight back down to your party with an exhausted glare. "All right. We gotta find this lady ASAP."

"True that," Niki says, gesturing her thumb to a doorway nearby. "This dungeon is kinda lame anyway. Let's try that direction first."

"Th-The adventurers have all been driven to madness," continues the voice. "Such an outstanding, deadly, beautiful dungeon is clearly too much for them to handle." Then there's a long, awkward pause before it continues again. "The hallway extends a distance to both your left and right. Two doors await you near the ends of either side. Which will proceed deeper, and which will lead to your doom? Perhaps there is no difference in the end. One of you did nearly predict your fate correctly. At the end of things awaits not just a Dungeon Lord, but something greater... A Dungeon Master."

"That's kinda spoilers. We wouldn't know that yet," you comment.

The voice doesn't respond.

"I don't think a Dungeon Master is a thing. Probably just a silly title," Eva says. "Let's just go the way Niki was pointing."

"Left door it is!" Niki marches over-dramatically until she reaches the knob. She slips her fingers around the brass, twists, and it doesn't seem to be locked. The door swings open into a tiny chamber with nothing inside. "Ah. Dead end."

"I doubt that," you say. "Let's peak around, but be careful."

It's rather crowded inside, even with only six bodies present. As she said though it looks like a dead end. It's difficult to discern much in this dungeon when it comes to intention given everything is so clean. You can't look for prints in the dust, worn stone, or anything like that. It's rather annoying.

"I'm no good at the non-fighting parts of a dungeon crawl," Niki admits. She shifts her ruby gaze over to Xiaoqing patting the wall nearby. "Say, you can really kick some butt. Though I don't really understand your whole deal. Are you some kinda mage?"

She turns her head. "Oh? No, I'm not. I actually don't have a class at all. That's a major problem with humans from Earth, in my limited experience. That's why Kyle had to be experimented on, right? That's what I understand."

"True! I forgot."

"The Empress of Ice has granted me some dominion over her element. So I can make frozen walls, shoot deadly icicles, and freeze things solid. Maybe not as much as most adventurers, but those powers don't require a verbal component like most spells do."

"Could you do more though? Like I dunno, make an ice-sword?"

"I can only ask for so much, since these abilities aren't really my own... but maybe. I'm not sure."

"That's not how I'd look at it. By that logic, what I can do isn't mine either. The markings on my chest grant me power, and then Goa gives me more on top. Does that mean neither of those things are my own? I don't agree with that. And look at Kyle. He's the best example out of anyone given what happened to him."

"Hmm. I suppose."

Snow nods, having suddenly appeared beside them. "Goa is the reason classes exist, though it's like a weaponsmith crafting you a sword. It's how you use it. I've learned many things from the people in my life. And even in my quiver, I have some arrows given to me by Mistress Dajy."

"And look at Amara," Niki says. As soon as she says her name, the elf's ears perk up and she turns to listen. "She's got that funny mutation, where her magic is stronger, but she wears a choker so she doesn't accidentally climax in the middle of--"

"Th-That is not really necessarily to explain to brazenly," Amara stutters out with hands in front of her, hustling to the warrior spouting her embarrassing secrets.

"And Eva! Cuz of her mom, she can suck like nobody's business. But that's her power to use."

The bunnyfolk turns with pink across her nose. "Can you not word it like that, Niki?! You're doing that on purpose."

She glances away an bats her eyes. "Nuh uh... I'm innocent."

"You--" But then she jumps in place as one of the tiles of the wall pushes an inch inward.

Slowly, each segment of the floor starting with the center sinks down, and slips under the one behind it, leaving only those near the walls in place. Everybody scatters to the edges as a column rises to connect with the ceiling. Now the room is empty no longer, as made present is a spiral staircase descending into darkness. It's especially polished, moreso than anything else around it.

Eva straightens her short dress and fixes her hair as if she's about to be filmed for her outstanding effort. "You know, maybe Niki has a point. I am amazing."

"That isn't really what I said," Niki responds. "But you are!"

"Aw shucks. I mean, I did go to Redbloom Academy, so my brain is like, massive. It was only a matter of time before I found the secret."

You glance back to the door behind you. "I feel like we might want to clear the floor before we go all the way down--"

"Nope!" Niki disagrees. She immediately begins hopping down the steps. "This is Eva's secret passage, so we gotta follow it."

"Mhm. This is my secret passage," Eva boasts before following behind.

"Do not get too far ahead!" pleads Amara before catching up.

You look to the others. "We better hurry," you say before proceeding down the steps, with Xiaoqing right beyond you, and Snow in the rear.

About a dozen stairs down the spiral, Niki stops in place. Everybody bumps into one another at such an abrupt halt.

"Oof! Why did--" Eva starts to ask.

"Uh oh," Niki responds, looking down to the pressure plate under her boot.

Clack! A loud sound within the walls echoes out, followed by the sound of grinding stone. Then in unison, every single step from top to bottom folds down into a smooth, slippery slide.
