Explore the depths.

"Few of the items in the wagon are required right now. If need be, I can retrieve them myself during the day." You tell your servant. "You and the beast will explore the caves. We need to make sure they are ours alone." With your command, the beast quickly withdraws itself from the dead wolf and slithers away, further down into the cave system.

"As you wish." Nisa hisses. The naked girl stands and moves down the other tunnel.

Turning, you face the brown mushroom growing from the dead wolf. Standing slightly taller than your ankles it's black rings taking on the appearance of Zporaflor's sigil. The demonic knowledge shared by the best tells you it will continue to grow much larger. "This will make a grand alter for the glory of my mistress." You tell yourself. "I will need to find a proper place for it before it grows too large." You turn your attention to the bones scattered about the chamber. Some are small, no doubt animals hunted by the wolves. Others are larger and slightly humanoid. "These must be what remains of the goblins Amon spoke of. If this was their cave, it may make for a suitable lair." You ponder the possibilities a moment. It would probably be best to retrieve your ritual item and other trappings of the occult from the wagon. It is unlikely to be discovered soon but best to err on the side of caution. Sheathing your dagger you make the ascent to the surface to follow the rocky cliff back to the campsite. It's a slight walk but not far when you find Amon's corpse where you left it, his figure already gaunt from decay. "The fool. Thinking bandits were the worst he would run into this night." You chuckle at the thought as you wonder which of the adventurers suffered the more savage fate.

The wagon is undisturbed and the horses still hitched to the tree just as you had left them. Rummaging through the contests to pull the large crate to the back. It's not too heavy but getting it inside the cave will still be a chore. You look around to realize your extra robes and satchel of alchemy supplies will need to be brought in as well. Of course, you will probably want a bedroll to sleep on too. The rest of the farming tools and weapons can be gathered later if need be. Looking to the horses, you decide it might be best to use one to help you carry your things back to the cave. You doubt the animal will make it through the entrance but it can at least aid in most of the labor.

After dumping Amon and Nisa's backpacks, you fill them with the contents of the crate; abyssal scriptures, candles, a few idols of Grevakhnu, and an old tome of dark rituals. Lashing the packs together, you drape them over one of the horses along with a pair of bedrolls and your satchel. The robes you flung over the top and unhitch the reins from the tree to begin your journey back to the cave.

The sun's rays stretching over the horizon lit the sky and dawn was quickly taking the land as you were unloading the last of the supplies from your horse. The beast and Nisa would need to remain hidden within the caverns until nightfall. It was probably best if you got some sleep yourself you decided as you made the trip back down into the entrance chamber. Hopefully, the two had made some progress in exploring the depths.
