Explanations.

You and Chloe form clothing on yourselves and get ready to head over to Hideki. You were excited to have some new toys to play with, and were happy to help Chloe. Kim’s eyes fade back to her natural color, and any trace of the sinister slime controlling her was gone for the time being. Right now, you were simply Logan and Kim.

You both head out to the car and get in, and start the drive to work. In no time at all you approach the lab and Chloe shapeshifts from Kim to Amanda. She gains several inches in height, and Kim’s petite frame transitions to Amanda’s plump and voluptuous body. Her skin color changes from brown to white, and her hair lightens to become a true blonde. Finally, the transformation completes with Chloe donning her usual lab attire.

You follow Chloe and move your own slime across yourself, imagining Zoe’s body. You’re still trying to get the hang of transformation - it isn’t entirely intuitive. You struggle to move skin, bones, hair, and tissue around as your mass starts to become shapeless and you falter in your attempts to become Zoe. Quickly, Chloe melts down and covers your body to reform herself onto you in an effort to stop you from crashing the car. Luckily, none of the nearby humans noticed your predicament at what was unfolding inside. You start to become aware of the inner-workings of slime nanites... years of research and fourth dimensional mathematics, it was all very trivial. Chloe modifies your brain to contain the knowledge required to be a slime. Satisfied with her work, she flows off of you and reforms next to you in the passenger seat. You regain control of your body and thank her for saving you. Chloe sighs.

“I guess that’s partially my fault for simply giving you my abilities without providing you the knowledge to use them. I guess I got caught up so much in possession that I forgot to make it fun for you.”

You give another attempt to disguise yourself as Zoe. You feel the slime coat you and soon you see Zoe’s beautiful face smiling back at you. By now, you’ve arrived at Hideki and you leave the car as both of you enter the building. Two security guards flank the entrance to the building, and they recognize Zoe and Chloe immediately. You’re stopped by the guards. Needless to say, they’re stunned. The two men are tall and imposing, yet you see a faint bit of uncertainty on their faces. It seems that whatever they were told was frightening to say the least. Most likely, a scare to keep employees in check for the moment.

“Dr. Hildebrand? Dr. Walker? Director Brooks informed us that Shaw Labs had sabotaged you both. We need to take you in as part of our ongoing investigation into this incident. Please come with us.” The guard says to you, motioning for you to follow them inside.

Chloe glances at you quickly, a slight smirk evident on her host’s face. You understand her intentions, and play along.

“Of course, we understand” you say. “We’ll be happy to explain everything. It’s been an... interesting day to say the least.” Chloe nods in affirmation of your statement and you both follow the security guards into the building. You pass through the hallways, receiving looks from several people. Indeed; the disappearance of two of Hideki’s head scientists garnered some attention and gave rise to gossip. All eyes are on you as you try to keep your cool as you reach the elevator and step in. As the doors close, Chloe decides to make her move. Her body quickly deforms into a slimy liquid, plunging into the security guard’s back and pouring inside his body. The other guard reaches for his radio, but you’re too quick for him. You transform back to a slime and attack his body, mashing up against him and pinning him to the wall. You cover his mouth and rush into his body, quickly rewriting his DNA with the enhanced slime from Chloe. You look over to the other guard to see her finishing her takeover of his body. The last of the slime flows in and spreads outwards, coating his body until she hides inside. Chloe briefly flutters her eyes a bit, the bright green glow apparent from the hijack. She grabs her radio, impersonating the guard, and contacts the director.

“Director Brooks, Dr. Hildebrand and Dr. Walker are being escorted to your office now.” You hear the radio click. A moment of silence, before you hear the director’s reply.

“Wait, what? Okay, get in here as soon as possible.”

“Roger that.” Chloe then puts the radio back and you both flow off the security guards, reforming next to them as if nothing happened. You would have liked to have been less aggressive with the slime but a simple droplet would have taken too long to get the job done. You look over at the guards, still appearing as normal as can be, completely unaware of the fact that they were no longer human. You had overwritten their mind and body to be subservient to Chloe. But they didn’t need to know that. Yet.

The four of you exit the elevator and the guard swipes his keycard to gain access to Director Brooks office. You enter into a small, private office with mounds of paperwork. Equations are scribbled on whiteboards, calendars marked, reminders posted, folders organized. Reginald Brooks was a genius at the very least, and his work helped set forth the development of Project Chloe in the first place.

Director Brooks is a middle aged man, but is still sharp and fit as ever. His hair is slicked back, and his beard neatly trimmed. His tall stature contrasts his friendly face with sky blue eyes. He wears an expensive tailored suit. Truly indicative of a company’s CEO, he’d been nothing but friendly and helpful to Chloe and Zoe once they gained sentience.

He motions for you and Chloe to sit and you do so. The guards stand on either side of him to protect him from potential danger from either you or Chloe.
