Explain the situation

"Queen Anne is a powerful and intelligent woman. Unfortunately, even though she's intelligent, she's not intelligent enough."

"What do you mean?" your mother asks.

You explained to your mother that due to Queen Anne's intelligence, she managed to secure her current position in such a short time, trampling other people through her abilities alone. Because of that, she becomes bored. And as they say, idle hands are devil's plaything.

"She's alright if war happens between our two kingdoms?"

"Having such a sharp mind, she lives for the experience. Like Dietrich, who hunts not for the lack of food but rather for the thrill of the hunt, Anne strives when she's in conflict. Conflict in the court, conflict between nations, and even conflict in bed."

"But the way I see it, you spanked her to submission."

You shrug. "It's too hard, you see. Queen Anne knows that she's intelligent and powerful, and everyone knows about that as well. They tried hard to defeat her, and she fight against them with much gusto... until one day, they simply stopped trying, I suppose, and just submitted to her. Everything she says, goes. Not only they stop fighting her, they started to relying on her until in the end, she has become their sovereign. Even her husband depends on her too much."

"That doesn't explain her extreme response to you."

"She was used to being in a position of strength, hiding away her weaknesses, until just now, when I slapped her. I showed her that I'm willing to resort to violence, and despite her words, I don't care for the possible repercussion. For the first time in probably in a long time, she is in a vulnerable state, and it broke her I guess. Thinking carefully, it's probably what she wanted; someone to dominate her."
