Executioner

BGM

I drew my shotgun and rushed the Executioner. The Executioner raised his hammer and swung down hard at me. I dashed to the side, jumping up and aiming. I fired the shotgun into the Executioner's face.

BANG!

The Executioner took the blast, its hood and face was shredded into mincemeat by the blast. The exposed muscles on his face contorted in painful rage as I jumped back, reloading the Shotgun. I dashed around the Executioner, firing into its back.

BANG!

I felt someone rush past me, I quickly turned to see if it was a cultist and saw nothing. I turned back to the Executioner.

CLANG!

My grip on the shotgun tightened as I saw Sora recklessly charge the Executioner.

"Don't be stupid!" I shouted, but she was already in motion. You emo dumbass!

The Executioner swung his huge fist at Sora to knock her away. Sora slashed away, her attacks connecting, and doing barely any damage.

The Executioner swatted Sora aside hard enough to throw her onto her back. I watched as Sora skidded across the muddy ground, her sword knocked from her grasp. Sora opened her eyes to see the Executioner raise his hammer over his head. She coughed blood from her mouth, gasping for breath as she struggled to her feet. Her arm hung limply at her side; she must have landed on it wrong.

She closed her eyes tightly. I rushed over and caught the hammerhead in my hands.

I then roughly turned around, and with a mighty heave threw the Executioner over my head and into a nearby house. The tiny building collapsed on top of it. I turned to Sora, my eye twitching in annoyance. Sora coughed again, wiping blood from her mouth. "What the hell were you thinking, charging that thing alone?" I demanded, helping her up.

Sora winced, cradling her arm. "I... I couldn't just stand there while it was attacking you. Besides, I figured I had a chance. I guess I was wrong," Sora said softly. "Thanks for the save?"

I grabbed her wrist and pulled her arm straight, causing her to gasp sharply. "Wrong? You almost got yourself killed, you idiot! This is what happens when you're reckless. You get hurt, you slow me down, and you put yourself in a position where I have to save you instead of finishing the fight faster."

I yanked her arm, twisting it back into place with a wet pop. She bit back a scream, her knees buckling for a moment before she caught herself.

"Thanks," she managed after a moment, flexing her fingers experimentally.

I dragged Sora off to the side and hung her off a broken rafter by her sad emo coat.

"Wha... HEY!" Sora complained indignantly.

"This creature is beyond your current ability." I scolded, "I might not been overly fond of the fact teenagers were summoned for this task, but I'm not about to let you die to something you can't yet handle.

Sora went slack-jawed. Sora's jaw dropped even lower as she witnessed me finish the fight.

The Executioner had already emerged from the rubble, dragging itself free with unnatural strength. Blood matted its face where my shotgun blast had torn away its flesh. I rushed forward. I dodged a downward swing of the hammer.

I dashed back in front of it, focusing at the Executioner's gut.

I parried a block from the hammer with the SkullHacker. The strike was enough to send him back several meters. The Executioner charged at me in furious panic.

It had gone berserk.

The Executioner attempted to grab me. I jumped back.

The Executioner raised his hammer again. My window was narrow.

I rushed forward and sliced off the arm of the Executioner with the SkullHacker. The Executioner roared in agony, the stub of its severed arm spraying blood onto the muddy ground. Knocking the Executioner back with a blast from the Shotgun, I took the hammer arm as the Executioner fell onto its back. I raised the hammer overhead and brought it down on the pained face of the Executioner. The Executioner's head exploded in a shower of gore and bone fragments.
