Chapter 16 by yamidamian yamidamian

How are things come the morning?

Excellently-and with tribute!

With the dawning of the light, I could see the first of my spawn already making some progress. Nothing to be particularly proud of yet, though. While my abilities do let them come into this world much, much faster than normal, they were much quieter on bringing them up to speed. Sure, monsters naturally did that much faster than other things-the natural selection of constantly dealing with heroes will ensure that, even if the Dark energy in their being didn't-but these things would still need a few days before they looked like anything more than a few sticks growing out the ground. Or, more pertinently to why I made them-to bear fruit.

In the meantime, it seems that the villagers had started to buy Lelouch story more-and so I started finding myself in an interesting position. After all, while they may have been nervous about outsiders, me included, it was very clear that I could be of use to them. While they had some a couple people with enough magic in them to do some tricks-like the self appointed witchhunter who had now transitioned into becoming my attendant-they didn't have anyone capable of restorative magic. If nothing else, someone who could more easily patch up some of their injuries was handy. So, they came to me, poorly-bandaged scrapes and cuts graciously mended. For some reason, it seemed this skill took a lot more to level than some others-but it's still a bit good for grinding as I use it to raise Throbbing Spells throughout the day. I figured if anyone asked, it was a side effect of my nature. It didn't come up though-either the percent was too small to matter with the mood they had when they visited, or these guys had good poker faces.

Frankly, since I was presumably awarded with the experience-in a more tangible way than whenever that was offered in my last life, which tended to drive me to irritation-and I didn't really need anything, I could have offered it for nothing. But it seemed to actually assuage them for me to accept minor offerings in exchange-made them more sure I didn't have further motive. And so, I let them. They were farmers, I was mostly a large plant, so arrangements could be made. My perpetual little breeder spread the tribute of compost around my base as I went about my business.

I was never good with names-went through all of college in my past life without learning that of any of my classmates. Fortunately, the pure gnosis I'd gotten for a tiny restraint meant I could always have one when I needed it-like knowing the my attendant was Senia.

It also told me an important piece of information as another supplicant approached me: this was the husband of Lelouch. Oh boy, it didn't take a supernatural sense to inform me he definitely had a piece of his mind to give me.

What does he want?
