Everyone lays low

Most of the office is unnerved, if not scared for their own jobs. By the time Victoria returns, everyone seems to have found very engaging work in their cubicles. There is no chatter, very few restroom breaks, no one gets up for more shitty vending machine coffee. It is eerie, especially since I have nowhere to hide. I have to be responsive and careful to anything she needs, but we manage to get through the day without more firings.

"Thank god!" I say when I get to my car. That was the longest half-shift ever. {if tom_fired = true}I feel bad for Tom. He was a good guy just trying to find his place and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm sure Sydnee didn't deserve it either, but who knows.{endif}{if tom_fired = false}Did Sydnee really deserve getting fired? I suspect not, but who knows.{endif} One more thing to stuff into the anger ball.

I am eager to get on with my evening. I am supposed to go to Mindy's house tonight. Tonya needs her webcam installed, and Mindy needs a workout room set up. The workout equipment is in my car already, and I have my gym bag. I am sure Mindy is not eager to start exercising tonight, but maybe I can talk her into a simple starter warm-up to set the tone that I mean business. Lewis's room has a hardwood floor and I don't have any yoga mats. Between setting down weights and sweating, some soft floor protection is going to be really helpful. I could pick some up on the way over, but it won't be free.
