Notes about the current chapter:
The song is Lucianos Restaurant bei Reinhard Mey https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-58T_aEMB_w
The price is assuming, that 10 Bery is about 1 Yen. This is based mostly on the price of the newspaper, which irl would be about 10 Yen. I couldn't find a conclusive value of the Bery and the pricing appears to be wildly inconsistent. While thinks like snacks at the Davy Back Fight for 500 Bery could be both overpriced or cheap it falls apart as soon as you compare any mention of money being paid with bounties.
If someone can offer a good exchange rate for € or $ to Bery please comment (optimally with solid reasoning). Mine is mostly guessing
The meal is roughly 7$ per person and explicitly meant to be really large portions.
Peggy is an anarchist with a **** problem. To understand, what she believes, here's an oversimplified explanation of anarchism:
Anarchism means roughly “no rulers”. Anarchists reject hierarchies. Hierarchies are commonly conflated with authorities. An authority is any person or institution, which has the right to give orders.
A hierarchy (literally “holy order”) is specifically an authority, that is not justified through qualification but by social constructs.
Simple example: Foreman: Authority. Not hierarchy. The other workers listen to them, because in theory they know better than the average worker how to organize their work.
Company owner: Authority and hierarchy. The workers listen to them, because they own the workplace. Both ownership (as opposed to possession) as well as the workplace (outside of the physical place where work takes place, though the owner of the company usually owns that, too) are social constructs. If tomorrow half the world decided, that money was no longer a thing, the authority of the owner would disappear.
Anarchists want to create/ live in a society, where there are no hierarchies. They are different from for example a communist society lead by a workers council, is that elections too are a social construct and therefor the workers council does not base their authority in qualifications, but in a social construct → a hierarchy (actually there are arguments within anarchist schools, whether election can be considered a qualification, though generally anarchists reject representation through others and prefer direct democracy).
There are obvious overlaps between communism and anarchism the main distinction being the approach: Communists come from the practical humanist angle (if society is structured around capital and capital can be privately owned and passed around, it will obviously lead to the concentration of capital and therefor wealth, which makes the ownership of capital more important than all other human qualities and behaviors to determine their success).
Anarchist come from a more theoretical sociological angle (when humans are equal, than there authority has to be justified).
Especially the entry into anarchism should probably be longer, but I've already taken longer for this chapter than I wanted to and it's getting late so -\_/-
Edit and Addendum:
Firstly I'd like to see, that I'm positively surprised, that these note-chapters actually seem to be appreciated. I thought, I'd end up writing them just for myself.
Secondly: So obviously, that I can't possibly consider it a spoiler, the next chapter will contain a concert. I'm once again asking for your support.
This time the call is much broader: Anything that is fun. Examples of what I'm already planning to use are Big Balls by AC/DC, Love U More by DJ Paul Elstak and any polka I can translate into English.
