Chapter 27 by duskdawn duskdawn

So how was the first on-screen sex scene?

Eve's tribe

You and Eve exit the chief's (now apparently your) tent, and many of the goblins you'd beaten **** are now stirring, being assisted by their more healthy allies. You notice a handful are a bit more injured than others, so you spend some time healing them. Only fair, since I'm the one that hurt them so much. Eve translates a bit for you, and the goblins are thankful that they have a new, powerful leader that can help take slaves, not only from the nearby tribes, but also from the nearby town. Well, that second one isn't going to happen, but how should I handle the goblins feuding with each other? I was just going to have them be equals under my authority, but that's already impossible, since I can't spend every moment with them. I didn't think this through too much, did I? "Hey Eve. How do you think things should go when I conquer the other tribes in the area?"

She looks surprised when you pose the question. "Uh, well, I'm not sure. I'd like if we could all get along, but I don't think we'll be living in peace anytime soon. Anytime two groups of people come together, there needs to be some sort of structure to make sure they're not going to fight each other."

"That makes sense. I suppose enforcing territory would help. Maybe enact some sort of trade between the tribes." You think, looking over the tribesmen as they go about their duties, each eyeing you curiously.

"That's a good idea, Chief. But don't we have to conquer the other tribes, first?"

"I think we should focus on bettering this one, first. How are things organized around here?" You sit on a stump in the center of the village, and Eve sits on one of your legs, facing away from you as you both overlook the goblins at work.

"Well, you have the hunting party out on a hunt right now. You might have to convince them of the way things are now. Then there's the makers. They take the furs from the animals hunted and use them for clothes. They also take sticks and stones and sharpen them to use for weapons. Just about everyone else helps keep lookout, and everyone helps when it comes to fighting, except the pregnant women." She puts her finger on her chin, looking up. "I think that's it."

You think to what you could even improve on. "So you use the meat and the fur from the hunt. What do you do with the bones?"

She looks at you for a second before looking toward the 'makers' nearby. She gets off your lap and walks over to them, asking something in their tongue. One of them begins to bark at her with clear hostility in their voice before another pokes them with the stick their holding, gesturing to you. The first 'maker' follows their gaze to you, and you could swear you see them gulp before addressing Eve in a much more hushed tone. After a bit more back and forth, Eve returns to you, promptly sitting back in your lap. "They haven't been doing anything with them. They just toss them into the forest."

"Well, that's something we can start with. While wood and stone are great, bones are pretty strong, too. And if you're already hunting, you don't have to waste time finding sticks and stones, since the bones will come with the meats and furs." You lift her off your lap and stand her and yourself up, walking back over to the makers and crouching in front of them. "Can you ask them if they remember where the bones are?"

Eve speaks to them again as they glance between you and her. They seem to discuss something amongst themselves before they set down the rocks and sticks they were sharpening and begin walking away. "They want you to follow them."

"Well, you're coming with us." You take the nearly-naked goblin by the hand and follow the two makers. Now that you're closer, it seems like one of them is male and the other female, but having no experience with real goblins, especially since they're on the uglier side, you're unsure. Barely any time has passed before you approach a small pile of bones. You dig through them yourself, finding a lot of small bones, likely from rabbits and squirrels, and only a handful from something larger like a deer. "It's not a great selection, but we can probably work with these." Carrying most of the larger bones, you instruct Eve and the others to bring as many as they can carry.

Moments later, you're back where the makers had been set up before, improvising using bones of various shapes and sizes to improve the weapons already present in the tribe and make new ones.

Do you think you could make bone tools if you needed to?
